4 characters who should be in Skeleton Crew

As a seasoned Star Wars gamer with over two decades of galactic adventures under my belt, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming show, Skeleton Crew. With its family-friendly focus and tantalizing hints at the return of beloved characters, it’s time to speculate on who might grace our screens.

Anticipation runs high as a brand-new Star Wars series, “Skeleton Crew,” approaches in December! This means it’s time to get creative and speculate on potential cameos or recurring roles that might grace our screens. However, we’re not talking about characters from other shows like Din Djarin, Thrawn, Ahsoka Tano, and others who inhabit the Mandoverse. Instead, let’s focus on characters yet to make their debut in this universe. I still believe my tin-foil hat theory that Lucasfilm might be keeping Jacen Syndulla under wraps, but let’s delve into those characters we haven’t seen in the Mandoverse thus far!

Here are 4 characters that could show up in Skeleton Crew.

1. Chewbacca

As a dedicated fan, I firmly advocate for Lucasfilm considering the idea of recasting certain roles, such as Billie Lorde stepping into Leia’s shoes. In fact, she’s already demonstrated her capabilities in that role! Regrettably, it seems they aren’t planning to introduce fresh faces for original trilogy characters at this moment. Nevertheless, a character like Chewbacca is exempt from such age-related concerns.

Chewbacca would fit right in with Skeleton Crew, especially since it is promoted as a show for the entire family. Children love Chewbacca, making him a great bridge between the original trilogy and this young cast of new characters in the sequel trilogy era. Joonas Suotamo has brought so much love to playing the Wookiee thanks to studying under Peter Mayhew before he passed.

2. Vi Morardi

The exact timeline for “Skeleton Crew” isn’t specified, however it seems likely that it takes place before both “Phasma” and “Galaxy’s Edge: Black Spire,” both authored by Delilah S. Dawson. It’s possible that a young Vi Moradi could make an appearance in the storyline. This would serve as a clever way to connect the events at Galaxy’s Edge with the series. Previously, characters from books such as Cobb Vanth and Black Krrsantan have moved from the pages into live action. It might be that the children from “Skeleton Crew” motivate a young Vi to stand up against the oppressors and join the Resistance.

3. Hondo Ohnaka

Instead of focusing extensively on everyone’s beloved pirate, Hondo Ohnaka, since there’s an insightful piece exploring his potential fit in Skeleton Crew, I’ll just give a brief summary: Hondo is well-known from the animated series and is present during this timeline. Similar to Cad Bane in The Book of Boba Fett, where both Corey Burton and Dorian Kingi breathed life into the bounty hunter, an actor could perform Hondo while Jim Cummings voices him. Additionally, Hondo has a fondness for children, as seen in his interactions with the younglings in The Clone Wars and his bond with Ezra Bridger in Star Wars Rebels. This could also help reconnect him to the Disney Parks, much like Vi.

4. Kazuda Xiono

It’s quite plausible that any of the grown-up characters from “Star Wars Resistance” will make an appearance before Kaz does, given their significant roles in the past. Characters like Jarek Yeager, who was present at the Battle of Jakku, Venisa Doza, a Rebellion member, and Imanuel Doza, along with Griff Halloran, who defected from the Empire to join the resistance, are more likely to be playing pivotal roles in this post-Imperial world. They might even be assisting Hera Syndulla, Mon Mothma, and the New Republic in setting up a new government.

Even though Hamato Xiono’s arrival in Ahsoka sparked a tiny desire in my heart, I’ve been longing to catch a glimpse of Kaz as a youngster, even if it’s just a brief appearance. It wouldn’t matter if he was an infant or a toddler hanging out in the background while his senator father is busy. I yearn to see my clumsy kid again. As a fan of Star Wars Resistance, any acknowledgment of the underestimated series brings me joy. Though I’d be thrilled to see Kaz as a child (perhaps he’s in the same class as the kids shown in the Skeleton Crew trailer), I’d accept any recognition for Resistance at this stage.
