I’m A Celeb South Africa hosts Ant and Dec blast David Haye in rare comments – after Adam Thomas said the boxer ‘broke him’ during his time on show

I’m A Celeb South Africa hosts Ant and Dec have blasted David Haye in rare comments about the show.

Adam Thomas shared on Sunday that David really challenged him and pushed him to his breaking point while they were filming the show.

The 37-year-old actor shared openly on Instagram about how difficult his time in the jungle was, following several disagreements with another person.

This week, Ant described David’s actions on the ‘I’m A Celebrity… Unpacked’ podcast, saying it wasn’t pleasant to watch because he constantly criticizes people.

Adam is really struggling and the constant teasing is overwhelming him. Unfortunately, David continues to push it, even though it’s upsetting Adam.

Dec agreed: ‘It’s kind of crossed the line from banter. I don’t find it comfortable to watch.’

Adam recently shared an update on Instagram about how he’s been doing since coming out. He said he’s taken time to reflect and feels much better now that he’s worked through his feelings, let go of anger, and had important conversations, ultimately choosing to focus on peace.

I’m most proud that I persevered through tough times. There were moments I really wanted to quit, but I didn’t give up, and that means the world to me.

He really challenged me and pushed me hard, and I explained it to David. He apologized, and I’ve accepted it – I don’t dwell on things like that. I’ve moved past it now.

‘But thank you for all your lovely messages and all the kind words ❤️.

Life inevitably throws challenges our way, and while they can be difficult, they often help us grow and become more resilient. Remember to always be kind.

The Waterloo Road actor shared a photo of himself looking sad in a hammock, explaining that his arthritis had been particularly painful and difficult to conceal.

Honestly, seeing this picture is really painful for me. I remember how difficult things were at the time, and I used to believe I was to blame for everything. Now I realize that wasn’t true.

Being on I’m a Celebrity South Africa was incredibly challenging for me, both physically and emotionally. It really pushed me to my limits.

It was tough to watch the show back. There were times I felt completely overwhelmed, and honestly, I didn’t always feel like the person on screen was me.

In 2023, Adam revealed he was battling autoimmune psoriatic arthritis, describing it as his greatest challenge.

You know, I don’t often share this, but living with arthritis has been a real challenge for me. It definitely took a bigger toll than people realize, and it’s something I haven’t always been open about.

My greatest challenge was masking my hurt and appearing strong. It was incredibly draining, and there were times I felt completely depleted, but I kept pushing through.

I definitely made mistakes; things didn’t go perfectly. I regret not speaking up and asserting myself earlier. I tried too hard to avoid conflict, but I’ve realized that being kind doesn’t mean you have to be a pushover. It often takes difficult experiences to help you discover your strength and find the courage to speak your mind.

Adam finished by saying he’s feeling much better now and is proud he stuck it out on I’m A Celebrity. He’s also talked to David, who has apologized to him.

Adam didn’t participate in Friday’s Bushtucker Trial because he was feeling sick and dehydrated. Afterwards, David expressed his frustration, saying Adam should have pushed through it as an adult.

‘I don’t like guys who are . . . a bit useless. I hate them useless guys.’

David and Adam had a disagreement on Thursday’s episode of “I’m A Celebrity” when Adam violated a key rule of the show.

The celebrities faced consequences when it was discovered that Adam, an actor from Waterloo Road, had secretly brought sweets to the Lions team.

After enjoying a big dinner, Adam surprised everyone at Team Rhino by admitting he’d secretly brought chocolate bars to share with their competitors, Team Lions, knowing they were hungry.

David, age 45, and Craig Charles had participated in the Bushtucker Trial, called Retching Ball, earlier that day and managed to win only seven stars, which translated to a limited amount of food for camp.

When dinner arrived, the group learned they were all being punished because Adam had taken the chocolate. As a result, their food portions were reduced, leaving them with only five stars’ worth instead of the usual seven.

David was the first to respond to the news, but he’d previously complained to Adam that his secret snacking would probably get everyone in trouble.

You know, it’s funny – Adam actually offered to skip dinner the other night. He was totally fine with it, but honestly, everyone else just wouldn’t let him! It was so sweet – nobody wanted him to go hungry, and they insisted he eat with us. It just shows how much everyone cares about each other, and that’s something I always love seeing – a group that looks out for one another.

David immediately suggested giving him a slightly smaller share, but Beverley Callard and Jimmy Bullard disagreed.

David sighed, eating a smuggled chocolate bar while Mo Farah cooked over the campfire. He thought the whole thing was pointless and didn’t mean anything.

Adam explained in a private conversation that David was very upset and believes Adam is at fault. He said David keeps bringing it up and won’t let it go.

Honestly, it’s just frustrating. He’ll say something dismissive like ‘okay, forget about it,’ but then he just keeps going on and on. I honestly find myself wondering if he’s just trying to be funny, or if he genuinely thinks what he’s saying is true. It’s really hard to tell!

Adam then addressed David’s upset reaction to the meal, pulling him aside and saying, ‘Let’s go outside and talk about this.’

As dessert arrived, a frustrated David remarked they hadn’t received as much as they’d expected. Scarlett Moffatt quickly intervened, telling others to leave him alone and end the argument.
