Legally Blonde’s highly-anticipated prequel series teases first-look clip at Elle Woods in action

A sneak peek of Elle, the upcoming prequel to Legally Blonde, has been released before its summer debut. The trailer suggests the story will center around a strong focus – or even obsession – with a particular topic.

Hey everyone, I just watched this new video called ‘Obsession is in Session’ and it’s basically a sneak peek at all the cool stuff this streamer is working on. They showed off a bit of the upcoming romcom, The Love Hypothesis, which I’m super hyped for, and also gave us a glimpse of what’s coming in season three of Maxton Hall – The World Between Us! Can’t wait!

Throughout everything, we finally get a good look at Lexi Minetree playing Elle Woods, a high school student beginning the journey that will eventually lead her to Harvard Law School.

One short video shows Elle relaxing by the pool, wearing her signature pink outfit. She then playfully asks, “Is there anything more fun and daring?” The clip also features her chihuahua and a glimpse of her causing mischief at school.

The new film, Elle, tells the story of Elle Woods’ high school years, showing the events that turned her into the memorable character from the first Legally Blonde movie.

Laura Kittrell created the series and also acts as its showrunner, working alongside Caroline Dries. The cast features Minetree, as well as June Diane Raphael, Tom Everett Scott, Gabrielle Policano, Jacob Moskovitz, Chandler Kinney, and Zac Looker.

Jason Moore, the director of Pitch Perfect, will direct the first two episodes. He’s also an executive producer on the show, along with Reese Witherspoon, who starred as Elle in both the original movie and its 2003 follow-up.

The show’s future seems promising, as Prime Video has already approved a second season before the first one has even aired. Reese Witherspoon expressed her excitement about returning to the world of Legally Blonde and working on the series again.

Elle: From the World of Legally Blonde will premiere on Prime Video on 1 July.
