Clash of Clans Ranked Mode updates for April 2026
Changes to Legend League
We’re making a big change to the Legend League! It’s now divided into three tiers: Legend I, Legend II, and Legend III. Don’t worry, you’ll still earn the same star and league bonus rewards no matter which tier you’re in – you won’t lose out on any loot.
This change was made due to the introduction of a single Legend league. Now, difficulty is spread across three tiers, affecting both the game’s structure and battle mechanics. This means matchmaking and ranking will be based on your skill level.
| Tier | Tournament Type | Battles Limit | Promotion / Demotion | Modifiers |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Legend I | 4-week format | 8 battles per day | If you drop below Rank 10,000, you demote | Legend I Modifiers |
| Legend II | Weekly | 30 battles per week | Top 3 in your group move up | Legend II Modifiers |
| Legend III | Weekly | 24 battles per week | Top 5 in your group move up | Legend III Modifiers |
Migration Week
From April 20, 2026, there will be a week-long event called Migration Week. Your performance during this week will determine your position in the new system once it launches.
| Your Rank Range | Where You Start |
|---|---|
| Top 12,500 | Legend I |
| Next 50,000 | Legend II |
| Everyone else | Legend III |
| If you get demoted | Electro 33 |
This is a really important step. Succeeding now will save you a lot of effort later on, while struggling here means you’ll have to start from a lower level. It’s pretty simple, really.
More manageable Ranked experience
The Ranked experience is becoming more relaxed for players outside of the highest Legend League. You’ll now need to play fewer battles to climb in leagues like Titan 25 through Electro 33.
As a long-time player, I’m really happy with the changes to how inactivity is handled! It used to be so frustrating – even a little vacation could cause you to lose your rank quickly. But now? You can be away for up to a month without being demoted, which is a huge relief and makes the game way more enjoyable for those of us with busy lives.
If you don’t come back to play, your rank will only decrease once every four weeks, making it a much gentler process. After being at your Town Hall level and inactive for an additional four weeks, you’ll eventually be removed from the rankings.
We’ve made a small but helpful improvement to how demotions are displayed. Instead of just getting a general warning, you’ll now see a clear countdown timer showing exactly when you’ll be demoted. The game also now gives you a better understanding of your current progress and when you’re in danger of falling, reducing confusion and preventing unexpected demotions.
