Gwyneth Paltrow says she’s ‘SO proud’ as daughter Apple Martin models a cap and gown before college graduation

Gwyneth Paltrow‘s daughter, Apple Martin, recently posed for photos in her graduation gown and cap after graduating from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.

The 21-year-old announced the news on Instagram Thursday, describing it as a ‘bittersweet moment’.

Her Oscar-winning mother said she was ‘SO proud!!’ as she hit the like button.

Vanderbilt University will hold its graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2026 on May 7th and 8th, 2026. The main ceremony for undergraduate students will be on Friday, May 8th, at FirstBank Stadium.

She started her studies at Vanderbilt University in 2022, focusing on Law, History, and Society. While she’s involved in theater – performing with the Vanderbilt Original Cast and directing student shows – she’s actually majoring in a different field.

Martin has also secured a top Hollywood agent at powerhouse agency CAA. 

The beauty has already secured modeling gigs for The Gap and self-portrait.

Last year, Apple told Interview Magazine how she loves theater ‘more than anything’. 

I’m really passionate about theater – it’s always been a big part of my life. While I haven’t had any experience with film yet, I’m actively looking for opportunities to work on student film projects. You could say I grew up loving the stage!

She told Vogue that she once considered law school, but went through a phase where she was determined to forge her own path, different from her parents’.

She also clarified that she does not want to be a musician like her famous dad.

I’m not interested in being a singer. While I enjoy musical theater, the thought of singing solo on stage is really scary. I’m passionate about both dancing and acting, and ultimately, my goal is to become an actor.

I’ve been following the recent chatter about Apple, and it’s been quite a story! There were claims circulating that she was asked to leave school due to bullying behavior, but she’s since come forward to say those claims aren’t true. It’s a good reminder that what you read online isn’t always the full picture, and it’s important to hear directly from the source.

Responding to the rumors on Instagram, she stated that the story circulating is completely untrue and has become exaggerated. She clarified that she was never expelled from school, and definitely not for bullying.

I’m totally fine with people not liking me – it’s perfectly normal! Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, especially online.

This rumor isn’t true at all. It’s not something I would ever do, and people who know me well will tell you the same.

The school costs $67,000 a year.

In 2022, Martin’s mother publicly shared the news that her teenage son was starting college.

Apple Martin, whose parents are actress Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay’s Chris Martin, started college this fall. The couple divorced in 2016.

Paltrow also said that it was hard on her emotionally to say farewell to little Apple. 

She described the experience as awful and truly terrifying, saying it made her feel nauseous and caused her to break down in tears.

She is ‘getting more and more used to’ it and is relieved she is ‘happy.’

The lifestyle expert shared that she attended a parents’ weekend and her child, Apple, came home for October break in 2022. She described it as a wonderful experience.

Ben Affleck’s ex-girlfriend said she doesn’t get to see him often, though she wishes she did, ideally every day. Despite that, she’s very happy to see him thriving and doing well.

She also shares a son, Moses, with a famous musician. She says he’s growing up so fast – already taller than her! – and she’s thankful for all the changes that come with motherhood, truly appreciating each stage of his life.

She is now wed to Brad Falchuk who has children Brody and Isabella.

She chuckled, recalling how she initially believed nothing could top the joy of her children’s birth. But as they grew – at two, then five, and through every age – she found each stage even more fulfilling than the one before. And she still feels that way now.
