Afghan Whigs drop second single from upcoming album with tour underway

The Afghan Whigs are making a comeback and are expected to release a new album – their first since 2022’s ‘How Do You Burn?’, which didn’t quite live up to expectations. They’ve already shared two songs from the upcoming record.

The band’s first single, “House of I,” sounds like their earlier, more energetic and punk-influenced work. The song itself is strong, but the music video is definitely worth checking out. It’s a great rock track that doesn’t try to be anything it’s not.

The band’s second single, “Duvateen,” has a more relaxed vibe. Together with their first single, these two songs showcase the band’s range and leave listeners eager to hear the full album. Both tracks are strong and effectively build anticipation for what’s to come.

The album doesn’t have a confirmed release date yet, but it’s expected to come out sometime this summer.

If you’re eager to hear the band’s new songs, you might get a preview at their current tour with Mercury Rev, which started last week and runs through late May. As their new album comes out this summer, they’ll probably add more concert dates to promote it.
