Even before the first episode aired on Channel 5 last October, the period drama was renewed for a second season, showing strong confidence from the broadcaster. Filming for season two began in June 2025, and the show received an even earlier renewal for a third season this March.
The first season didn’t offer a clear resolution. The finale dramatically shook up the Forsyte family, particularly with Jolyon Jr., or Jo, leaving his wife, Frances, for Louisa, a former love. Their history was complex, as Jo later discovered he was the father of Louisa’s twin children, without even knowing it.
Ann surprised her son, Jolyon Sr., by telling him about his grandson, Harry Falconer. This new storyline suggests the series might be diverging from the original novel and earlier versions of the story.

Fans will recall that Irene previously hoped to become a ballerina, but her marriage to Soames led to those dreams being abandoned, leaving her feeling trapped and stifled.
In the second season, Irene’s story gets more complex as she develops a connection with Philip Bosinney, who was first seen near the end of season one. This connection is likely to cause problems, especially since Philip is planning to marry June Forsyte, creating a traditional love triangle.

Adding to the stress, Frances won’t grant him a divorce, leaving his new relationship unresolved and uncertain.

When can I watch The Forsytes season 2?
While there’s no confirmed release date yet, Channel 5 has hinted that season two will arrive in 2026. Given that the first season launched in the UK in October 2025 and became available to US viewers on PBS in March 2026, a late 2026 release seems likely.
