Netflix has shared a sneak peek of the upcoming Scooby-Doo: Origins, showing the four human members of Mystery Inc. While we can see the team, we’ll have to wait a bit longer to get a look at Scooby-Doo himself.
This new series shows how the famous crime-solving team first came together. Fred, Daphne, Velma, and Shaggy find themselves caught up in a mystery that might involve the supernatural.
Maxwell Jenkins, Mckenna Grace, Abby Ryder Fortson, and Tanner Hagen are playing the iconic group, and we’ve just gotten our first look at them – they’re peeking around a door with a paw print on it.

The new series, also starring Paul Walter Hauser, will combine live-action with animation. It’s a fresh take on the Scooby-Doo franchise, which originally began as the animated show Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! in 1969.
The new movie, Scooby-Doo: Origins, kicks off with Shaggy and Daphne spending their last summer at camp, where they stumble into a spooky mystery. It involves a sad, lost Great Dane puppy who might have seen something supernatural – a murder, perhaps!

Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg created the new series and also serve as executive producers. They’re joined by Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, Adrienne Erickson, and Toby Haynes, who all also hold executive producer roles.
Greg Berlanti, the creator of shows like Dawson’s Creek and Riverdale, shared his enthusiasm for the project. He told Tudum that Josh and Scott at Midnight Radio have created a story that perfectly embodies their unique personalities and talent.

Having previously worked on shows like Andor and Black Mirror, Haynes will direct the first episode of the series, which is planned to have eight episodes in total. The remaining directors and the voice actor for Scoob haven’t been announced yet.
The new series, Scooby-Doo: Origins, will be the first live-action television show based on the Scooby-Doo franchise, though there have been a couple of live-action movies made in the early 2000s. Recently, the franchise has also seen animated films like Scoob and Velma.
Scooby-Doo: Origins has entered production, though doesn’t have a release date yetg on Netflix.
