Peaky Blinders star’s crime series renewed for third season

As a seasoned gamer of both the small and big screens, I must say that the news of Sam Neill’s crime series, The Twelve, getting renewed for a third season has left me utterly thrilled! The Australian drama’s intriguing premise and Neill’s compelling portrayal of barrister Brett Colby have made it a must-watch for me.

Peaky Blinders star Sam Neill’s crime series The Twelve has been renewed for a third season.

This Australian-produced series, bought by ITV, revolves around twelve jurors as they struggle to fulfill their responsibility in rendering a verdict, all the while dealing with their own individual struggles.

In the upcoming third season, Neill will reprise his role as barrister Brett Colby. This time, the story revolves around a cold case murder trial set in the Margaret River region of Western Australia. New locations such as the State’s Parliament House and ABC Studios serve as backdrops for season three (as reported by Variety)).

Each episode, lasting an hour, will consist of a total of eight installments. These segments are penned by the talented team of writers, including Sarah L Walker, Matt Cameron, Mia Lethbridge, Adele Vuko, and Sam Meikle.

As a gamer, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be working alongside Madeleine Gottlieb and Mark Joffe as the directors for our upcoming project. The talented duo Kirsty McGregor and Will Pearce will handle the casting process, ensuring we get the perfect fit for each role. Can’t wait to embark on this exciting journey with such an amazing team!

In February 2023, the initial season of the show premiered on ITVX, and the network claims it as one of their top-performing dramas ever, having attracted more than 26 million viewings through streaming.

In the past month, season two became available on our streaming platform, shifting the courtroom setting from an urban environment to the small, rural town of Tunkwell in Australia.

12 local residents were tasked with determining if the death of Bernice Price (Kris McQuade), a local landowner, was due to a criminal act or a unfortunate workplace incident. Her daughter and lover stood accused in this case.

Neill’s upcoming appearance is in the limited series titled “Apples Never Fall,” set to debut on BBC iPlayer on September 21st, following its initial release on Peacock earlier in the year.

Drawing inspiration from Liane Moriarty’s popular book with the same title, the drama unfolds around the Delaney family, who appear to have an idyllic life. However, their polished image begins to crack when a newcomer disrupts their peaceful existence.

Additionally, actress Annette Bening (known for her role in Nyad), Jake Lacy who rose to fame on The White Lotus, and Alison Brie from Community are part of the ensemble as well.

You can currently stream seasons 1 and 2 of “The Twelve” on ITVX, but as of now, there isn’t a confirmed release date for season 3.
