The popular show is experiencing a resurgence in viewership on streaming platforms three years after its last episode, as fans anticipate its upcoming movie.
According to streaming data from FlixPatrol, The Mandalorian is back in the top 10 most-watched shows on Disney+. The Star Wars series, featuring Timothy Olyphant as Cobb Vanth, is currently ranked ninth in the United States. It’s joined on the list by the newer Star Wars series, Maul – Shadow Lord, which is currently number one.
The Mandalorian Continues This Month on the Big Screen
The popularity of The Mandalorian has led to a new movie continuing the story of Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his son. Fans have been waiting three years for this continuation, which will also include familiar Star Wars characters like Rotta the Hutt, Embo, and Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios.
The Mandalorian and Grogu are set to headline a new Star Wars film, marking the franchise’s return to theaters after 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker. The movie is expected to be full of surprises, and fans are hoping to see beloved characters like Cobb Vanth. Although Timothy Olyphant’s involvement hasn’t been officially announced, Star Wars enthusiasts are eager for his character to return.
Will There Be a Fourth Season of The Mandalorian?
Instead of a fourth season of The Mandalorian, Disney+ is moving forward with a new story featuring Din Djarin and Grogu. According to creator Jon Favreau, a fourth season would have brought back Grand Admiral Thrawn, leading directly into the storylines of Ahsoka Season 2 and an upcoming Star Wars film by Dave Filoni.
