Zayn Malik cancels U.S. leg of his Konnakol tour after a recent mystery hospitalization

Zayn Malik, who rose to fame in the group One Direction, has canceled all of his upcoming U.S. tour dates. He was recently treated in the hospital for a health issue, but details haven’t been released.

I’m so grateful for all the love and support you’ve shown me, especially with the album release and during this time with my health,” Zayn Malik shared on Instagram Friday. “I’ve truly felt all your prayers and well wishes, and it means everything to me. I’ve been recovering at home and am doing well – I’ll be back stronger than ever!”

I was so excited about the KONNAKOL Tour, but unfortunately, I’ve had to make some changes to my schedule. I’m trimming down the number of shows a bit, just to make sure I can still connect with as many of you as possible. I’m really looking forward to the shows that are still happening and can’t wait to share the music with you all. And to everyone else, I promise I’ll be around the world soon – I’m hoping to see you all very soon! Sending lots of love, Z

Despite still planning shows in the UK and Mexico this month, the singer behind “Side Effects” has canceled the U.S. portion of his tour. The tour was originally scheduled to begin in July in Philadelphia and included major cities like Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, Chicago, and Seattle, with a final performance set for Miami on November 20th.

Malik has postponed several dates on his Stairway to the Sky tour, including his October 27th performance at the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles. New dates for these shows will be announced soon.

The news follows Malik’s recent hospitalization, which he announced a few weeks ago. While he didn’t say what was wrong, he posted photos on Instagram on April 17th – the same day his new album, “Konnakol,” was released – showing him in a hospital bed with an IV drip. The Instagram post has since disappeared.

I wanted to thank all of my fans for your continued love and support. It’s been a tough week, and I’m still recovering, unexpectedly. I’m really disappointed I can’t see you all this week, and I’m so grateful for your understanding – I wouldn’t be where I am today without you.

The singer of “Prayers” expressed gratitude to all the amazing hospital staff – including doctors, nurses, cardiologists, and everyone in management and administration – who provided help during their care and continue to do so.

Earlier this year, Malik held his first-ever concert residency in Las Vegas, performing seven shows at Dolby Live at Park MGM.
