Olivia Rodrigo is doing a lot of TV appearances, which might make you think a new album is coming out immediately, but that’s not the case. Her new album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, will be released on June 12th. However, she will be appearing on Saturday Night Live on May 2nd, where she’ll both host and perform as the musical guest.
Olivia Rodrigo is following in the footsteps of Jack White, who recently appeared on Saturday Night Live with Jack Black as the host on April 4th. After his performance, White left Rodrigo a note saying, “Kill it, kid,” which was especially meaningful coming from someone she admires.
Interestingly, Olivia Rodrigo considers Jack White a major inspiration. She recently told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show that she’s a huge fan, describing him as “the coolest guy ever” and a genuinely good person who always does what’s right. She shared that he once sent her an encouraging text message, telling her to “look up” and stay positive, promising she’d discover something great.

Olivia Rodrigo and Jack White create very different music – Rodrigo leans towards pop, while White’s style is quite different. However, music has a unique way of uniting people, and that’s what makes it so special.
