What Beyond Paradise’s bittersweet Zoe exit could mean for the franchise

Zoe, played by Melina Sinadinou, said goodbye to viewers in the fourth season of Beyond Paradise. However, hints suggest she might return to the show before too long, if you pay close attention to the details.

Earlier this season, viewers got a hint that Zoe’s travels might bring her to Dolphin Cove, a coastal town in Australia. Interestingly, that’s where Mackenzie Clarke (played by Anna Samson), another detective from the Paradise series, lives and works.

Okay, so it’s not officially confirmed yet, but the second episode of Beyond Paradise definitely had me thinking Zoe’s heading back to the Cove! She was clearly researching the trip and chatting with Kelby about her plans, which was a huge hint. I’m so excited if it turns out to be true!

Since no other possibilities were offered, it seems unlikely that this was a deliberate attempt to mislead fans. It’s hard to believe Beyond Paradise would intentionally raise expectations only to disappoint.

It’s unclear how Mackenzie will join the show, but it seems she’ll be dealing with a lot of emotional baggage. The season three preview reveals she’s recently disrupted another wedding of her ex-fiancé, Glenn, and is trying to avoid falling in love again – though she’ll likely find that difficult.

Mac will stay busy solving new and puzzling murder mysteries at Dolphin Cove, which still appears idyllic on the surface. She’ll rely on her intelligence and the unique skills of her dedicated team to crack each case.

What to Read Next

Zoe might be helpful to the team, but she’s better suited for another role. It’s unclear if Glenn’s ex, Daisy Dixon, will return for the next season, but someone needs to tend bar at the beachside location, and Zoe’s experience as a waitress would be perfect for the job.

The popular show Death in Paradise will return for two more seasons, plus two additional Christmas specials! Executive producer Tim Key also hinted at a major surprise planned for the beginning of season 16, with the upcoming Christmas special laying the groundwork for it.

Could Zoe’s storyline lead to a three-way crossover event? It might be wishful thinking, but we’re starting to believe it could actually happen.
