Best movie new to Netflix this week

I just finished watching Small Things Like These, and wow. Cillian Murphy, who recently won an Oscar for Oppenheimer, is fantastic in it. Everyone’s been raving about it – it’s got a crazy high score on Rotten Tomatoes, almost perfect! It’s a really powerful Irish drama.

The film features Andrew Garfield as Bill Furlong, a dedicated father who discovers disturbing secrets concealed by a convent in his Irish town, New Ross. Based on Claire Keegan’s 2021 book, the moving story sheds light on Ireland’s troubling past with Magdalene laundries—institutions operated by Catholic orders—and was praised by The Times of India as a film everyone should see.

Best movie new to Prime Video this week

I just saw The Bikeriders, and it’s a really compelling crime film from 2023! It all starts when a woman named Kathy meets Benny, who’s the newest guy in this motorcycle club. But the movie really follows what happens as the club changes and gets more and more violent, and how Benny has to decide where his loyalties lie – with his friends in the club, or with Kathy. It’s a tough situation for him, and makes for a great story!

Starring Jodie Comer, Austin Butler, and Tom Hardy, The Bikeriders has been praised by The Hollywood Reporter as a powerfully evocative film. It’s directed by Jeff Nichols, who adapted the story from a photography book by Danny Lyon.

Here’s what’s new on Prime Video this week: There Will Be Blood, John Wick, The Smashing Machine, The Hunt for Red October, Game Night, Rocketman, the 2002 Spider-Man film, and all three Spider-Man movies starring Tom Holland.

Kaitlyn Dever and Beanie Feldstein star as best friends Amy and Molly in this film, with supporting roles played by Lisa Kudrow, Jessica Williams, and Jason Sudeikis. Billie Lourd also delivers a particularly memorable performance.
