First look at Jodie Whittaker in new Netflix rom-com with “incredible cast”

The new Netflix romantic comedy, Office Romance, features Jennifer Lopez as a successful CEO and Brett Goldstein (from Ted Lasso) as the lawyer who develops feelings for her. Jodie Whittaker also makes an unexpected appearance in the film.

The new movie, written by Goldstein and Joe Kelly and directed by Ol Parker (who directed Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again), shares similarities with the film Set It Up. Jennifer Lopez stars as Jackie Cruz, a powerful and slightly intimidating CEO. When lawyer Daniel Blanchflower enters her life and falls for her, Jackie risks her career and position on the company board for the possibility of romance.

The trailer shows the new couple deciding to keep their relationship a secret at work, but it seems like everyone else already knows – even Jackie’s best friend, Sydney, who is played by Betty Gilpin from the show GLOW.

I just watched the trailer, and it’s really powerful! It turns out Daniel has a sister, Lizzy, who’s in prison, and she gives him some advice. The trailer ends with him visiting her – it’s a really emotional moment, and it definitely makes you want to know more about their story.

Lizzy is delighted to learn her younger brother has fallen in love, though Daniel has some doubts.

“You don’t shit where you eat,” Daniel tells Lizzy, who very pragmatically replies: “I do.”
