Beverley Callard says the chaotic I’m A Celeb final left her ‘wiped out for days’ as she battles breast cancer

Beverley Callard said the stressful finale of ‘I’m A Celebrity’ completely exhausted her for several days, especially considering she was also fighting breast cancer.

Beverley, a well-known actress from Coronation Street, recently appeared on the All Stars version of the ITV show, which was filmed in South Africa. She is 69 years old.

She left the show, which was pre-recorded last September, on medical grounds after 12 days in camp.

Months later, the actress revealed she had been diagnosed with breast cancer.

She joined the live final through a Zoom call, but unfortunately experienced technical difficulties that ended her interview prematurely.

Taking to Instagram, Beverley uploaded a video with a health update for her followers.

She said: ‘I was absolutely wiped for days.

You know, I’ve been hearing from so many people lately who feel completely wiped out after even just one night of staying up a little later. It’s almost like our bodies just aren’t as resilient as they used to be. It really makes you wonder – is this just part of getting older, or could it be a sign that something more is going on? It’s a question I’ve been pondering myself, and it seems like a lot of us are feeling this way, especially when we’re not getting enough rest. It’s a reminder to really prioritize self-care, isn’t it?

Beverley explained that she was waiting to hear how well her treatment was working, as she awaited the newest test results.

She said she’s still awaiting her test results and is hoping to receive them on Thursday, as that will mark two weeks since the test. She emphasized that she’s doing her best to stay positive.

Beverley captioned the video: ‘One late night and I’m out of action for days.’

She shared her diagnosis for the first time earlier this year during an appearance on the Late Late Show, a program on Irish television.

It came as Beverley began a stint portraying Lily Patterson on Irish soap opera Fair City.

The final episode of I’m A Celebrity received more than 1,000 complaints from viewers who felt it violated broadcasting rules. The complaints stemmed from a series of heated arguments that were shown live on television.

On the show, Ant and Dec lost control of the situation when Jimmy Bullard claimed Adam Thomas had been ‘abusive, aggressive, and intimidating’ during a heated argument with swearing that was filmed last year.

Jimmy, a 47-year-old former footballer, claimed the show unfairly edited footage during a heated argument with Adam, 37, right before Adam was named winner of the show.

After a heated argument during a pre-recorded challenge, where Adam reportedly used a highly offensive slur against him, Jimmy was given a chance to explain what happened on the show, with Ant and Dec facilitating the conversation.

As the conversation between Jimmy and Adam became more heated, especially with David Haye joining in, Ant ended the live discussion, saying, ‘Let’s just agree to disagree,’ after a lot of arguing back and forth.

Oh my gosh, it was insane! Everyone was losing it and flooding Ofcom with complaints! I mean, things got so bad Sinitta actually walked off set, and poor Scarlett was absolutely devastated – she was in tears! It was just total chaos, and honestly, I couldn’t look away!

A recent report from the broadcasting regulator revealed that 1,187 viewers complained about the live program that aired in London.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m seeing a pattern here! It’s not the first time viewers have contacted Ofcom to voice their concerns about this show. In fact, we saw a similar situation earlier in the series – 171 people actually filed complaints when things got heated between David, the former boxer, and Adam. It seems like strong opinions are definitely part of the show’s dynamic!

David publicly called Adam ‘useless’ when Adam withdrew from a challenge because he wasn’t feeling well – a moment that Ant and Dec admitted made them feel uneasy.

This follows comments from the show’s winner, Adam, who said he felt taken advantage of by ITV during the dramatic final, which was held at the Hammersmith Apollo in London.

While staying at a camp in Kruger National Park, the Waterloo Road actor experienced conflict with former footballer Jimmy and faced accusations that ex-boxer David was bullying others.

The season finale also wrapped up messily, with Jimmy and David restarting their argument with Adam right in front of everyone watching.

During Wednesday’s episode of the Thomas Bros podcast, the actor discussed his recent issues with Ryan and Scott, suggesting that their disagreement was heavily emphasized as the show went on.

He believes that for David Haye and some of the other contestants, being on the show seems to be just for entertainment purposes.

This is purely for fun and entertainment. I’m not pretending to be someone I’m not, and I’m not doing this for anyone but myself. I just want to have a good time and enjoy the experience.

What really struck me was seeing David after everything that happened. Even after the show and all his actions, he sent me a voice message saying how much he enjoyed it and congratulating me on winning. It was really unsettling.

I replied to him, letting him know that I’ve reached my limit and need to end things. I wish him well, but I’m no longer involved.

The whole thing was really difficult. During the live show, I felt used and you can probably see that in how it ended. I was caught up in everything, but it felt like it wasn’t even focused on me.
