Chris Evans replaces Josh Brolin in “electrifying” crime thriller with “stellar cast”

Chris Evans, known for playing Captain America, will now star in the upcoming crime thriller My Darling California. Josh Brolin, who previously played Thanos, had to leave the project due to conflicts with his filming schedule.

This movie takes place in 1980s Los Angeles and tells the story of several people—a TV host, a country music singer, two struggling criminals, and an ex-convict—all seeking a better life. Their lives unexpectedly collide when a single crime brings them together.

The film’s cast features Don Cheadle, a familiar face from other Marvel movies, along with Jessica Chastain (known for her role in X-Men: Dark Phoenix), Chris Pine (Wonder Woman), Mikey Madison (Anora), and Charles Melton (Beef season 2).

According to Deadline, filming is expected to begin either in late summer or September.

Elijah Bynum, the director of the film, previously made Magazine Dreams. That film faced a two-year delay from its planned 2023 release because of controversy involving its lead actor, Jonathan Majors, who also stars in Marvel movies.
