After news broke that Spiders would be closing, the studio has officially confirmed the closure in a post on their social media accounts.

The company is shutting down. After the release of the ‘GreedFall: The Dying World’ expansion, it will stop operating.

We regret to announce this news and want to express our sincere gratitude for your support over the years. If you need help with any of our games, please reach out to Nacon directly, as we will no longer be able to provide assistance.

It’s a shame to see another studio close its doors. We wish everyone on the team the very best.

Original Story: Spiders, the French game studio owned by Nacon, will soon close its doors.

Origami’s latest report indicates the game developer will likely enter liquidation on April 29th, 2026, due to significant financial difficulties at the publishing company.

According to the report, Nacon tried to sell Spiders, the game development studio, but couldn’t find a buyer. As part of a larger financial overhaul, Nacon will now ask the court to liquidate the studio.

Sources say closing down the studio is now just a technical step, and is expected to happen soon.

The Paris-based Spiders studio is famous for games like GreedFall and Steelrising, a challenging action RPG inspired by the Souls series. They’ve also developed a number of other titles throughout their history.

The report indicates that staff are being asked to focus on professional development – updating their resumes and participating in self-study – instead of working on new projects.

It seems Spiders is closing down after filing for bankruptcy last month, along with fellow Nacon studios Kylotonn and Cyanide. We don’t currently know what’s happening with Kylotonn and Cyanide.
