WePresent’s London Spring Show Is an Ode to Community

WePresent, the art platform created by WeTransfer, is hosting its Spring Show, called On Belonging, at the Copeland Gallery in Peckham, London.

From May 8th to 10th, everyone is welcome to attend this three-day event, which will showcase the diverse creative work made on the platform. The event’s selections will focus on ideas of identity and community.

Okay, so I checked out this gallery space, and it’s been totally transformed! They’ve got artists from all over the world – a bunch from their WePresent Selects series and others they’ve worked with before. It’s not just paintings though, it’s a whole experience. I’m talking art exhibits, movies, interesting talks, DJs spinning tunes, and even a little pop-up shop. It’s packed with stuff to do!

The exhibition will feature work from artists like Chad McLean, Hashim Nasir, and Hajar Benjida, showcasing both new pieces and celebrated favorites. A specially designed cinema will screen exclusive films by Akinola Davies Jr., Amrou Al-Kadhi, and Jamie-James Medina. Visitors can also explore a library area displaying projects from WePresents, including the poetry book Nour by Mustafa and the photography book Holy Ohio by Nadia Lee Cohen. Throughout the three-day event, Balamii, a South London music platform, will provide the soundtrack with daily DJ sets from its artists.

The event features inspiring talks with industry professionals and portfolio reviews for up-and-coming artists. There’s also a shop selling unique items created in collaboration with artists – everything from clothing to home goods – and all the money raised goes to charity.

The exhibition, On Belonging, will be open to the public starting May 8th from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. British Summer Time. You can preview some of the featured artwork in the gallery above, and tickets are available for free on Eventbrite.
