Sally Dynevor, known for her role on Coronation Street, has expressed her excitement about potentially becoming a grandmother. This comes after her daughter, Phoebe, got engaged last May.
Sally’s 31-year-old daughter became famous for her role as Daphne Bridgerton in the popular Netflix historical drama.
It’s been almost a year since Phoebe got engaged to Cameron Fuller, who works as an American producer and actor, and her mother, Sally, is already hoping they’ll start a family and have a baby.
In an interview with Prima Magazine, Sally expressed her hope of becoming a grandmother in the future. She acknowledged that this would likely shift the family dynamic, but welcomed the change, saying, ‘That’s life, isn’t it? Things are always changing, and it’s exciting!’
Cameron proposed to Phoebe during a family vacation in the English countryside in May 2025.
Phoebe’s sister, Hattie, shared that she’ll be a bridesmaid in the wedding and expressed her excitement about Phoebe’s fiancé, saying he’s ‘the best’.
When asked if Phoebe was becoming stressed about her wedding, she told the Daily Mail that she’s actually very relaxed and plans to enjoy every part of the process. She’s excited to share the experience with her partner.
She shared her thoughts on the potential style of the dress, suggesting it would likely be classic and traditional, though she hadn’t made a final decision yet.
Hattie described the upcoming wedding as small and intimate, explaining that it would be a close-knit affair with just a few guests.
The celebrity shared that she’s still early in the planning stages and hasn’t decided on a location yet. She’s just hired a wedding planner, but the wedding is definitely planned for next year.
Hattie shared with Richard Eden of the Daily Mail that her engagement in the Cotswolds was a beautiful family affair. She said everyone was there, and her fiancé was overcome with happy tears.
Their mother, the Coronation Street star Sally, shared a photograph at the time.
She shared the wonderful news that her daughter is engaged! She described her future son-in-law as handsome and kind, and said she couldn’t be happier – it’s the best news she’s had all year.
Sally made it clear she doesn’t want to help with the wedding plans, preferring to let the couple make all the decisions for their special day. She stated plainly, ‘I’m going to stay out of it completely.’
As a mom myself, I’m always thrilled to see my kids pursue their passions! It’s been so rewarding watching my daughters, Phoebe and Hattie – they’re both 22 – follow me into acting. My son Sam, who’s 29, has taken a different path, building a great career in public relations. It just goes to show, supporting your children’s individual dreams is the most important thing!
When asked about her daughters pursuing acting, Sally explained that she would never discourage them. She said, ‘How could I tell them not to follow a path I chose for myself? If they’re passionate about it, they have to give it a try.’
I’m really happy they’re pursuing their passions, and that’s what matters most. I still keep in close contact with them, talking to them almost every day. Having Hattie still at home changes things, and it’s a new kind of balancing act, but I expect things will change even more as time goes on.
Sally Metcalfe, played by actress Sally (age 62), has been a character on the soap opera for an amazing forty years, starting in 1986.
“I don’t understand why anyone would retire if they truly enjoy their work,” Sally said. “I love coming to work each day and being around bright, young people who keep me informed about the world and all the latest trends. They’re so inspiring, and I just love being around them.”
She explained that she has no intention of retiring and would never be content simply staying home and figuring out how to spend her days. She wants to keep working.
I’m happy to continue working here for as long as they’ll have me. And even if they decide to move on, I plan to stay active and find something else to do – the thought of actually retiring doesn’t appeal to me at all!
The June 2026 issue of Prima is now on sale.
