Apple TV+ has released a short preview of the fourth season of Ted Lasso, the feel-good show about a positive football coach (played by Jason Sudeikis). This season, Ted faces what’s being described as his toughest challenge yet.
The series, called a “global cultural phenomenon” by the streamer, will return for a final season despite seemingly concluding Ted’s story with its third season. This announcement comes after the previous season ended with the main character returning to Kansas.
The first look at season 4, coming to Apple TV on August 5th, shows Ted stepping onto the soccer field. He’s joined by Tanya Reynolds, known for her role in Sex Education, who plays a new assistant manager, and Brendan Hunt as Coach Beard, a fan favorite.

He’s returned to Richmond and is now coaching a women’s football team in the second division. A moving video accompanying the announcement features footage of players trying out, set to music by Mumford & Sons and Hozier, and also shows a potentially awkward meeting between former couple, Keeley and Roy.
Okay, so I’m still not sure if Keeley and Roy are going to work things out, but it looks like Rebecca’s moved on! The trailer showed her kissing this guy she met in Amsterdam, and honestly, she looks totally smitten. It’s a good sign for her, even if it’s a bit sad for Team Roy & Keeley!
The upcoming fourth season seems to focus on Ted and his colleagues learning to be more spontaneous and take risks, but it looks like not everyone in Richmond is happy about Ted’s new role.

Ted was happily greeted by a fan in Richmond, but the moment quickly turned sour when the man insultingly said, “Too bad you’re coaching a bunch of girls.” Despite the harsh comment, Ted remarkably maintained his positive attitude, simply nodding and walking away.
Jason Sudeikis recently explained that this season’s theme of taking risks will lead the AFC Richmond team to realize they’re ultimately exactly where they belong, no matter what happens.
Ted Lasso season 4 debuts on Apple TV on 5 August, with episodes following weekly until 7 October.
I’m so excited! The latest issue of Living Legends is out, and it’s a gorgeous, full-color tribute to Sir David Attenborough! It’s 100 pages long and you can grab a copy at newsstands or order it online.
