Good news for fans of The Mummy! The release date for the fourth movie in the series has been moved up by seven months. The sequel, which was announced last year, will once again star Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz as Rick and Evelyn O’Connell.
The fourth Mummy movie is expected to be a direct continuation of The Mummy Returns. It will reportedly skip over the events of The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, which featured a different actress, Mara Bello, playing Evelyn.
Originally planned for May 19, 2028, the movie is now scheduled to come out in 2027. It will be in theaters on October 15, 2027, perfect timing for Halloween, according to Variety.
In addition to Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz returning, John Hannah will once again play Jonathan Carnahan, Evy’s brother.
Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the directing duo behind Radio Silence, will direct the new, currently unnamed movie. David Coggeshall is writing the screenplay.
