The new series Secret Service immediately plunged viewers into a tense world of spies and political mistrust with its first episode, which aired on Monday, April 27th. While Kate Henderson’s investigation into a government mole is just starting, the episode ended with a surprising twist potentially focusing on Lena, played by Alma Prelec, who seems to be in danger.

ITV’s new thriller, Secret Service, stars Gemma Arterton as Kate, the head of MI6’s Russia desk. The series, adapted from Tom Bradby’s novel, began with a gripping and dangerous operation that immediately highlighted the risks of her job.

Kate traveled to Malta to connect with her source, Lena, who worked as a nanny for the family of Igor Borodin, a high-ranking Russian intelligence officer. Kate has unexpectedly stopped investigating Russian spies and now seems to be caught up in a political conspiracy that could involve the highest levels of government. However, the situation quickly focuses on a more pressing threat involving Lena.

Okay, so after helping Kate with that mission, things are starting to look really bad for Lena. This guy shows up who’s connected to Igor, and it’s pretty obvious someone’s onto her. It feels like her cover is about to be blown! I’m seriously worried – is she in real danger right now? The game left me on a total cliffhanger, and I need to know what happens next!

Although Secret Service wants us to worry about Lena, her role in the bigger picture hints that her fate might be more complex than it seems. As Kate’s main connection to Borodin’s network, Lena is more than just someone who can be easily eliminated.

There are a couple of potential scenarios. One is that Lena might need rescuing, which would put Kate in a difficult position – she’d have to weigh protecting national security against her personal feelings for Lena. Alternatively, Lena’s true identity could be revealed, and Russian intelligence might exploit her to mislead Kate.
