After a four-year wait, Millie Bobby Brown is returning as Enola Holmes in the third installment of the popular Netflix film series. Netflix has officially announced that Enola Holmes 3 will be released this July, and they’ve given fans a sneak peek with some initial photos.
I’m so excited for the next movie! Jack Thorne is writing it again, which is fantastic, but this time Philip Barantini – you might know him from films like Adolescence and Boiling Point – is directing. It follows Enola as she’s in Malta, and it sounds like she’s dealing with a really complicated case where her personal life and work start to mix – apparently it’s even more dangerous than anything she’s tackled before!
Joining Millie Bobby Brown, Henry Cavill returns as Sherlock Holmes. Louis Partridge is back as Tewkesbury, Helena Bonham Carter as their mother, Eudoria, and Himesh Patel as Dr. Watson. Sharon Duncan-Brewster will play the role of Moriarty, the villain.
The third Enola Holmes movie will be available on Netflix starting July 1st. Be sure to add it to your watchlist so you don’t miss it!

We got a sneak peek at Enola Holmes 3 back in January, hinting at a possible marriage proposal from Tewkesbury. New photos show Enola in a wedding dress, but it’s unclear if this is meant to mislead viewers.

Other photos reveal Sherlock back on the case with his sister, and show Watson having a serious talk with Tewkesbury. We also get a first glimpse of Eudoria in the new movie.
Enola finds herself in trouble again, this time trapped in a burning building. However, things aren’t all bad – she’s also shown enjoying time with Tewkesbury, and they both seem very happy together.
Brown shared that what she enjoys most about this part of the story is seeing Enola become more sure of who she is, while still growing and changing. It’s wonderful to see her create a life for herself, but also realistic that she’s still figuring out what she wants, something many viewers will likely connect with.

Collaborating with Louis Partridge has really helped make these films feel unique. We’ve worked together for so long and support each other so well that there’s a natural chemistry between us that you can’t pretend to have.
As a fan, I’m loving seeing how Enola and Tewkesbury’s relationship has grown! It’s so much deeper than just fun and games now – there’s a real connection and a lot at stake. Because they trust each other so much, they can be bolder and really explore the emotional side of things, which is amazing to watch.

It was recently confirmed that Enola Holmes 3 is the shortest film in the series, clocking in at 105 minutes. According to the filmmakers, the new movie will offer a significantly different experience compared to the previous installments.
I used to see the Enola Holmes films as a clever way to explore 19th-century Britain,” he explained. “The first movie focused on changes to land ownership and voting rights, the second on the rise of labor unions, and the latest one examines our history as a colonial power.”
Enola Holmes 3 is released on Netflix on 1 July.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a beautiful 100-page, full-color tribute to Sir David Attenborough, is now available! You can purchase it at newsstands or online.
