She fits right in! Abbie Chatfield starts work at KIIS FM replacement breakfast show alongside Kyle and Jackie ‘O’ star

Abbie Chatfield was welcomed into the KIIS FM family with open arms on Monday.

The podcaster started their morning radio show after The Kyle and Jackie O Show was cancelled, leaving the time slot open.

The 30-year-old was warmly welcomed on set by Pete Deppeler, known as ‘Intern Pete.’ Pete is a producer, reporter, and sometimes appears on air, and has worked with Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson for many years.

Abbie and Pete shared photos and a video on Instagram showing them playfully cuddling and laughing together.

I’ve been so impressed with Abbie! She’s really clicked with everyone at the radio station – the team and the talent both. It’s been a tough few months for them, especially after Kyle and Jackie O left, but Abbie seems to be settling in perfectly and bringing a fresh energy.

The popular social media personality ended her radio show, Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield on the Hit Network, in 2023.

Chatfield joined KIIS FM to replace Sandilands and Henderson after they left the station.

Last week, News.com.au announced that the controversial influencer will be hosting the breakfast show on KIIS FM starting Monday.

She’s working with Mike Etheridge, known as Mike E, and newsreader Brooklyn Ross, who have been keeping things going on the radio since The Kyle & Jackie O Show ended in March.

Abbie will only be with the show for a week as a guest co-host. ARN is still looking for permanent replacements for its previous main hosting pair.

The network hasn’t revealed any plans to replace Kyle and Jackie while they’re dealing with legal claims of unfair dismissal.

According to sources, discussions with potential candidates to fill the position are already progressing smoothly.

Abbie will be testing out the breakfast radio slot after Georgie Tunny, a well-known personality from Channel Ten, co-hosted with Mike E earlier this week.

Oh my gosh, you guys, I just read that the people at KIIS FM are so thrilled with the latest radio ratings! Apparently, the numbers that came out this week have them totally hyped – they’re saying they’re ‘hugely encouraged,’ which basically means things are going AMAZINGLY for them. I knew they were the best, and now the ratings prove it!

The show’s audience increased by 37,000 listeners in Sydney and Melbourne compared to the last ratings report in March.

Between February 8th and April 4th, a total of 673,000 people listened to the show, according to the latest ratings data.

However, a survey conducted in March, looking at listenership between January 18th and February 28th, showed the program had 636,000 listeners.

Melbourne also saw a rise in listeners, going from 403,000 to 440,000 between the two surveys.
