Lorna Luxe reveals she’s had to ‘learn how to pay bills’ as she moves into stunning new mansion two months after husband John’s tragic death

Lorna Luxe has shared that she’s been figuring out how to manage her finances after the heartbreaking loss of her husband, John.

The 43-year-old influencer recently shared a post on Instagram after moving into a beautiful new rental home. She lost her husband to stage four adrenal cancer in February; he was 64 years old.

Lorna and John used to live in the well-known £2.5 million ‘Ghost House,’ but they had to move out last year after it flooded.

In a heartfelt moment, she shared how she’s adjusting to life as a widow and creating a new daily routine after her husband, John, handled most things for so many years.

It’s been two years since John passed away, and since then, my life has completely changed. I had to move, learn how to manage finances, and even teach myself to cook – John always handled all of that before.

Lorna talked about feeling lonely, remembering how John used to sit with her while she put on her makeup.

Lorna playfully mentioned to someone how expensive it must be to have the windows cleaned at her house, since it’s almost entirely made of glass.

She sadly confessed that she wished John were still here, both to help get a fair price and just to be present.

Lorna is giving her 1.8 million followers a look inside her new rental home, which she’s moved into just around the corner from her previous place with John. She’s highlighted the amazing kitchen and the glass hallways, which offer beautiful views of the trees.

She shared that John would have been proud of her for finally getting the house in order. It had been a really difficult process, but she and her dog, Kev Bear, were very happy in their new home, which was a big improvement over their previous rental.

Adding: ‘I’ve whacked all my stuff in storage so it’s a bit disorientating for Kev-bear.

We arrived with just the essentials – clothes, a corkscrew, and a kettle. Moving out of our previous home wasn’t planned, so it’s been a little stressful, but I know John would be proud of me for managing it and finding a great new place for Bear and me, even if it’s only temporary.

Interestingly, the house she currently lives in shares a connection to Ghost House – both were designed by the same firm, BPN Architects, and have a similar style.

Ghost House is a striking, 5,000-square-foot home built entirely of bare concrete, resembling a James Bond villain’s hideout. You enter through a dark, mirror-like pool of water.

The ground floor is entirely dedicated to the master bedroom, featuring a concrete design, a private bathroom used solely by Lorna, and a home cinema.

The new house is designed to blend into its surroundings, appearing almost hidden. It’s a single-story home built as a collection of seven separate, smaller sections spread across the property.

Each pod is joined together by a glazed corridor, creating a sequence of connected rooms. 

Oh my gosh, it’s just… heartbreaking. Apparently, John actually left Lorna a whole list of rules to follow after he was gone, things he wanted her to do to stay safe. And get this – one of them was that she shouldn’t even wear the engagement ring he gave her, the 15-carat one! Can you believe it? It’s like he was trying to protect her from beyond the grave, but it’s just so… controlling, even in death. I’m obsessed with finding out more about this whole situation.

She keeps it hidden at a different location to protect her from becoming a target.

John and Lorna met when Lorna was 25 years old. She was working as a flight attendant for Virgin Atlantic at the time, a job she held for eight years.

He left his job in banking to help her launch a business, and even though they started with £300,000 of debt, he was absolutely certain she would succeed.

Lorna has also revealed she was considering having children after John’s tragic death.
