Final Fantasy 10 Officially Returns in 2026

Beloved characters are returning in a thrilling new installment.

Square Enix just announced that Rikku from Final Fantasy X is joining Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy on April 28th. Fans are thrilled, especially since Marika Matsumoto, who originally voiced the character, is returning to reprise the role.

Rikku Is Coming to Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy

Launched on March 24th, Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy is the latest installment in the popular Dissidia fighting game series. Similar to past games, it lets players control iconic characters from throughout the Final Fantasy universe and battle each other and numerous foes in large-scale conflicts.

Unlike previous games in the series, Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy is designed for mobile devices. According to Square Enix, the game’s story begins when a massive crystal appears in Tokyo, and strange monsters emerge from a dark energy surrounding it, threatening humanity.

Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy lets you play as many iconic characters from the Final Fantasy series. Each character fits into one of four roles: Ranged, Melee, Support, or Agile. You can customize your experience in lots of ways, including changing your characters’ outfits and collecting things like key story scenes and new background music.

Originally launched in 2001, Final Fantasy X introduced a vast new world called Spira and a powerful new enemy, Sin. The game received incredible reviews from both critics and players, and became one of the best-selling titles in the Final Fantasy series.

Final Fantasy X was incredibly popular, becoming one of the few games in the series to get a direct sequel. Released in 2003, Final Fantasy X-2 let players return to the world of Spira, battling huge creatures and competing in Blitzball. Just like the first game, Final Fantasy X-2 received excellent reviews and sold millions of copies quickly.

Rikku will be available in Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy beginning on April 28.
