The Block's Shaynna Blaze details the most 'bizarre moment' of her TV career and discusses the 'dark' side of dating

As a lifestyle expert with years of experience under my belt, I must say that Shaynna Blaze is truly a remarkable woman who has managed to carve out a unique and successful career for herself. Her journey from considering being a contestant on The Block to becoming a judge on the show is nothing short of inspiring. It’s fascinating how life can take unexpected turns, isn’t it? Who knew that a phone call in the middle of red earth in Alice Springs would lead to such a lucrative and recognizable career!

Shaynna Blaze has disclosed an unusual incident from her television career and shed light on the challenges faced when dating in the spotlight.

The interior designer, aged 61, is widely recognized for her role as a judge on The Block since 2012. Now, she’s openly shared the behind-the-scenes story of how she secured this prestigious position.

Initially, it seemed unusual for her to be appointed as a judge since she had once pondered participating in the competition as a contender herself.

Shaynna was surprised when her manager contacted her during the shooting of Selling Houses in Alice Springs, proposing that she might take up a judging role on The Block.

To begin with, I found it peculiar since The Block was a familiar and cherished entity among us,” I shared with Stellar Magazine.

I find myself considering the possibility of participating in The Block as a contestant. It’s something I hadn’t discussed much before.

My manager called me and proposed, “Try not to get too worked up, but imagine if you became a judge on The Block.” At that moment, I was standing amidst red soil in Alice Springs, exclaiming, “Absolutely!” as my response.

In the realm of my television career, securing that position felt incredibly unusual – almost surreal. Instead of going through the conventional interview process, I found myself standing in a room where the role was essentially being “sold” to me instead.

Detailing the meeting, she shared: ‘They proceeded to tell me how great it would be to have a female judge on The Block.

In that moment, I found myself thinking, “They’re buying from me, but I’m not the one doing the selling,” which was quite an unusual experience for my television work.

Overwhelmed by the unexpected job opportunity that came my way, I must admit, yet here I stand, recognized and esteemed after eight years as a judge on the reality TV competition. It’s me, Shaynna, making a name for myself.

In the same conversation, Shaynna spoke about the challenges of dating under public scrutiny and mentioned that she makes an effort to maintain privacy in her romantic affairs.

As a seasoned lifestyle guide, I must confess that navigating romantic endeavors in the limelight is no walk in the park; it’s more like a dance on thin ice. However, rest assured, I have no intention of dipping my toes into the digital dating pool anytime soon.

As a devoted follower, I can tell you that Shaynna likened using dating apps to a mysterious, shadowy adventure and shared her preference for encountering individuals face-to-face instead.

Previously, Shaynna had been married to a personal trainer named Steve Vaughan for 18 years. However, they parted ways in August 2018.

Shaynna is recognized for her successful real estate ventures, but recently she left fans in awe by revealing a significant change in her professional life.

In April, Shaynna surprised her followers by announcing that she was venturing into the world of music and releasing her debut single titled “Warrior.

Instead, she disclosed that she views music not as a new beginning, but rather a belated resumption of her singing career following the pause she took when she became a mother to Carly and Jess.

In May, she explained that there were several factors contributing to her taking a break from music. At first, it was because of her family commitments; her income wasn’t sufficient to meet their needs.

‘It was about getting other avenues of income…you just don’t make a lot of money.

Apart from that, as my children were growing up, I used to sing to them when they were young and I would put them to bed, go off to sing and then return, with my parents taking care of them. However, it eventually reached a point where my daughter was about 14 or 15 years old and she started attending parties. At that moment, I felt the need to be more present.

The Block judge expressed deep discomfort at not being able to perform, to such an extent that she found it difficult to enjoy music for a prolonged period.

She admitted, “For a while, I couldn’t listen to music because it caused me pain.

‘The songs that I loved I didn’t play anymore. I suppressed it only because I missed it so much.’

Back in December, Shaynna unveiled her hidden vocal skills to the public for the very first time, as she sang I’ll Be Home for Christmas.
