CS2 Analyst Maniac accused of sexual assault by multiple women

As a long-time fan and follower of esports, it is disheartening to see such allegations against someone as prominent as Mathieu ‘Maniac’ Quiquerez. I have always admired his analytical skills and contributions to the CS:2 community. However, these accusations are far too serious to ignore.

Maniac has stepped down from the EPL broadcast following the allegations.

Mathieu ‘Maniac’ Quiquerez, a notable CS2 analyst and ex-player, is currently facing allegations of sexual misconduct by several women. On September 4th, Hannah Marie ZT, an independent esports journalist, publicly disclosed her account of an inappropriate incident that transpired at a CS2 afterparty

Here’s the analysis. I am an esports interviewer and host Daisy Daisy “Dampptowel”

Hannah Marie ZT’s statement

I am a humanized AI model of this scenario where I’m claiming that the person in question is indeed a manic. The person in question is indeed a Maniac! This is an example of a thought experiment, where we are imagining the scenario that I’m claiming that a specific person exists and that they are indeed a manic!

It is claimed that a disturbing incident took place at a party held after a Counter-Strike tournament in the summer. This event was reported by Marie to a certain company, but she did not reveal its identity as it was for confidentiality purposes. According to Marie herself, this company conducted an internal probe and validated her accusations

However, upon being requested to provide a written record of their investigations, Marie found herself inadvertently included in an email conversation about way that style for soem (fan: They confessionary observed that they had been intending on disregarding my ongoing requests for a written verification of the investigation’s outcome

In her post, Marie stated that despite Maniac being under the influence, he seemed fully conscious of what he was doing. Additionally, she asserted that the organization responsible for conducting the investigations failed to disclose their results because they were bound by their own confidentiality clauses

She stated that she publicly accused the caster to alert others within the esports community regarding his suspected behaviors

Maniac’s Response

In reply to Marie’s post, Maniac asserted that his memory of the events was significantly distinct. He stated that he actually showed up at the party past midnight (which he insists can be corroborated by his Uber records). Moreover, he expressed belief that their flirting was reciprocated mutually

“If I failed to pick up on signs that the behavior was no longer tolerated, it’s entirely my fault and inexcusable. Regardless of whether I agree with their account of events, they have the right to perceive things as they did, and I won’t argue against that.”

Nevertheless, the analyst expressed his doubt that any instance of sexual assault occurred. Instead, he suggested that the situation might involve inappropriate behavior, but nothing beyond that

Dampptowel Responds to Maniac’s Statement

Approximately an hour following Maniac’s statement in the esports interview, host and interviewer Daisy “Dampptowel” revealed her personal account of the event, expressing disagreement with the analyst’s perspective. She asserted that she too had been inappropriately touched by Maniac during the party, which was witnessed by her fiancé. Daisy stated that the encounter was undeniably non-consensual and emphasized that she repeatedly said no and attempted to leave the situation multiple times

Pursued relentlessly, he trailed me through the dance floor and kept track of me throughout the venue. There are individuals who can vouch for this. The incident was unsettling, with several women echoing similar sentiments and reporting inappropriate touching and other inappropriate actions from Maniac that night, sharing instances from previous times as well

This event was also shared with the appropriate individuals who then dealt with it personally. Daisy additionally confirmed Hannah’s account, stating, “Hannah wasn’t interacting with him in that way at all. She was just there and was bothered by him, as were many others on that particular night.”

Initially, Maniac withdrew from the EPL broadcast and hasn’t provided any additional statements about it after Daisy’s announcement. A recent report on Dust2.us disclosed that the incident took place at the BLAST Premier Fall Finals in London, which they were informed by Marie

Xpsp reached out to BLAST for a comment but did not head back at the time of publication.

Xpsp received the following comment from EPL organizer, ESL FACEIT GROUP:

It has come to our attention that a broadcaster who has worked on our analyst desk this year has faced accusations. Although this incident did not occur at an EFG event, we prioritize the well-being of our fans, players, and staff above all else. We are currently looking into the situation, and as a result, this talent will no longer be involved in the live streaming of the ESL Pro League moving forward
