Zoe Kravitz and Channing Tatum bond over a series of eclectic films in adorable new video… just days after he called her ‘the love of my life’

In the run-up to the release of their joint production, “Blink Twice,” in movie theaters, partners Zoe Kravitz and Channing Tatum share a heartwarming moment by revisiting several timeless films together.
35-year-old actress, set to make her directorial and writing debut in “Blink Twice,” hitting theaters on August 16, along with her 44-year-old fiance, appeared together in The Criterion Collection’s Closet Picks video series.
In this latest installment of the ongoing video series, artists explore a wardrobe filled with Criterion Collection movies and share their preferred picks, as demonstrated by the duo in the current video.
The video comes just days after Tatum, who proposed to Kravitz in late October 2023, said Kravitz was the, ‘love of my life.’
The first film they choose is John Cassavetes A Woman Under the Influence, starring Gena Rowlands, who just passed away Wednesday at 94.
Kravitz praises Rowlands’ performance in the 1974 movie, stating it’s among the finest he’s ever witnessed. They recently rewatched it and were reminded of how shocking the climax can be.
In the directorial hands of Barbara Kopple, Tatum takes on Harland County, a project that marked their first collaboration, which was initiated in 2005 with the filming of “Havoc”.
As a seasoned lifestyle connoisseur, let me share with you one of my all-time favorite documentaries – the captivating Paris is Burning from the 1980s. This remarkable film offers an intimate look into New York City’s vibrant drag scene during that era, earning its place as, in my opinion, the greatest documentary ever made.
Tatum remarks, “It’s one of those moments; a place and time that can never be replicated,” as Zoe explains that she and her father Lenny Kravitz often reference this line from the movie.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I would highly recommend adding “The Lord of the Flies” and “The Vanishing (1988)” to your must-watch list. While “The Lord of the Flies” is a classic novel-turned-film that I believe everyone should experience at least once, “The Vanishing” stands out as one of the scariest movies I’ve ever seen. Even though I haven’t had the pleasure of watching “Lord of the Flies” myself, its reputation precedes it as a compelling story. But when it comes to sheer terror, there are few films that can compare to the chilling experience of “The Vanishing.”
Later on, Tatum recalls watching Akira Kurosawa’s 1954 masterpiece Seven Samurai, reminiscing about the time he first viewed the movie not long after settling in Los Angeles.
It seems everyone enjoys discovering movies without knowing much about them in advance. As a newcomer to LA, I stumbled upon Vidiots and found myself in the Kurosawa section where a guy asked if I liked Kurosawa. Confused, I admitted I didn’t know who that was, to which he replied by lending me Rashomon and Seven Samurai for the weekend. That weekend turned out to be simply fantastic, and it introduced me to a whole new world of cinema.
Kravitz selects the 1956 timeless masterpiece, The Killing, by Stanley Kubrick, whereas Tatum chooses Terry Gilliam’s 1991 production, The Fisher King.
As an ardent admirer, I can’t decide if there’s a scene superior to the enchanting waltz in Grand Central Station from this movie. In that particular moment, Channing Tatum truly outdid himself, arguably delivering the greatest scene ever set in Grand Central Station.
Additionally, Kravitz selects the 1979 film “The Rose” by Bette Midler, a movie that he personally finds as one of his favorites.
Additionally, they choose films such as Cher’s timeless 1987 hit Moonstruck, Dustin Hoffman’s memorable 1969 film Midnight Cowboy, the Coker Trilogy, and Thelma and Louise, which Kravitz describes as ‘an ideal movie.’
