NCIS star Mark Harmon pays tribute to late show boss George Schenck
As a dedicated fan who has followed the thrilling journey of NCIS since its very beginning, I must say that George Schenck‘s passing is truly heart-wrenching news. Having been an integral part of the show for 15 seasons, he leaves behind a legacy that will forever be etched in the hearts of millions who have grown to love this series.
Actor Mark Harmon, known for his role on the show “NCIS,” has expressed condolences upon the death of the show’s previous leader, George Schenck.
82-year-old actor Schenck, best known for his role in the long-running crime series, sadly passed away at his home in LA on August 3rd. His death was confirmed by a representative from CBS.
During the 19th season, Harmon, who portrayed Leroy Jethro Gibbs on the series before leaving, paid a heartfelt tribute to Schenck. He expressed gratitude for their collaboration with Frank Cardea, emphasizing that he valued their work together.
“Harmon expressed his regret upon learning about George, saying, ‘George and Frank’s dedication and determination significantly shaped our show. I am truly grateful for their collaboration and the spirit of unity they embodied,’ (as reported by The Hollywood Reporter).”
For more than four decades, I teamed up with Cardea in this gaming world we call work. We wrote scripts, produced shows, and even shared the role of showrunners together. It was an incredible journey that culminated in our retirement in 2018.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that our favorite series, NCIS, is all set to return in October for its 22nd season! Recently, our esteemed actor Wilmer Valderrama, who plays Special Agent Nick Torres, gave us an exciting update on the filming progress. He shared: “Hey there, wonderful folks! I’ve got some news for you… Alright, let’s get this party started!”
It seems you might be aware, but just in case: We’re back on the set of NCIS! Production for season 22 has started. I’ve been here a few days, and guess who’s making a return? None other than yours truly, Nick!
In a prior discussion, he expressed his desire for an intense experience this season: “How can we create a blaze,” he said. He believes it won’t just be about casual concern for a team in distress but rather a deeply moving, emotionally draining ordeal.
“This season, there could be some unfortunate events or new challenges. Torres, who has been quite reserved in the past, might open up to love this year. It’s hard to predict, but it could potentially be a topic of discussion.”
NCIS airs on CBS in the US. Seasons 1-20 are streaming on Disney+ in the UK.
