Kyle Sandilands reveals the strict diet his wife Tegan Kynaston has put him on after concerns for his health following axing: ‘Eating 10 grapes for breakfast’

Kyle Sandilands says his wife, Tegan Kynaston, has put him on a strict diet to help him get in shape before his new show starts.

KIIS FM host, 54, shared with his fans on Wednesday that his wife, Tegan, 40, is helping him track what he eats as he continues to work on improving his health and managing his weight.

Kyle announced he’s making a comeback, promising to be better than before. He joked he’s also secretly following a diet, thanks to his wife, and clarified he’s aiming to get fitter, not heavier – a nod to Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s recent weight loss.

‘This morning I ate ten grapes for breakfast. Like, what the f**k? Oh, and two boiled eggs and a four-pack of Coke, I drank half a tin of Coca-Cola,’ he said.

Kyle explained he started dieting because he was tired of people making negative remarks about how he looked.

He was tired of the negativity and criticism he was receiving, stating he’d had enough. This led his manager, Bruno Bouchet, to offer reassurance, telling him, ‘You look great, mate.’

Kyle joked, ‘That’s just Bruno doing what he’s paid to do…’ Then he quickly added with a smile, ‘Actually, he’s not being paid right now, which makes his support even better! Thanks, buddy!’ He finished by giving Bruno a hug.

In the same video, Kyle shared that he’s planning a major return to his career. This comes as he continues to fight a legal battle with his previous employer, ARN, following the cancellation of his show, The Kyle and Jackie O Show, in February.

‘Let me tell you a little secret… shhhh, don’t tell anyone,’ he began.

I’m excited to share that I’m working on something new, and I’ll be revealing details soon. I’m taking a break to focus on this, and I’ll be back with a much bigger and better version of what you’re used to!

He didn’t say what he’s working on, but photos showed him in a recording studio with a sign for ‘Kyle Sandilands Live’ visible behind him.

A sign visible in the background of the clip offered a hint about Kyle Sandilands’ new show. It featured Sandilands’ image with the words ‘Kyle Sandilands Live’, suggesting the show will be broadcast live.

However, Kyle did not specify when this new project would launch.

Kyle recently started a new diet after his friend, Mark Holden, gave him a serious wake-up call while Kyle is still dealing with his ongoing legal issues with ARN.

Ian ‘Dicko’ Holden, age 71, was one of the original judges on the reality show Australian Idol. He worked alongside Kyle Sandilands as a judge for three seasons, from 2005 to 2007.

Holden told the Daily Mail he worried the stress of the legal fight with ARN was negatively affecting Kyle’s health.

After being let go from Idol in 2008, Holden became a lawyer, practicing as a barrister from 2010 to 2023. He understands firsthand how stressful and demanding high-profile legal cases can be.

‘He’s unfortunately boxed himself into a corner,’ Holden said.

After thirteen years of dealing with the court system, the last thing I ever want to do is go back to court.

Holden understood Kyle’s frustration with the firing, but he urged him to focus on taking care of himself.

‘There’s no denying that radio is Kyle’s life – he lives for it,’ Holden said.

‘But my advice to him would be: “Get your health correct, because you don’t look healthy.”‘

Holden also asked Kyle to think about how the situation was affecting his wife, Tegan, and their young son, Otto, who is three years old.

He told him, ‘You’re already under enough stress, and your health is what matters. You don’t need to worry about making any more money. Please take care of yourself.’

‘You’ve got a son and a wife. Look after your health. His money is making him money.’

Over the past year, concerns about Kyle’s health have increased. Last February, he shared that doctors had found an aneurysm in his brain and another in his chest, requiring urgent surgery.
