“Gripping” psychological drama with star from popular hit Poldark reveals first look

Channel 5 has released a first look at the cast of its new drama, The Fortune, which the channel calls ‘gripping’. The cast includes Eleanor Tomlinson, known for her roles in popular shows like Poldark, the Netflix series One Day, and Channel 4’s The Couple Next Door.

The upcoming series, The Fortune, focuses on Amanda Blakefield (played by Charlotte Tomlinson) and her seemingly perfect life with her husband, Jimmy (Matthew Lewis, known for All Creatures Great and Small), and their son, Luke (James Younger).

Amanda’s life is turned upside down when she unexpectedly inherits a fortune from a complete stranger. This leads her down a dangerous path, drawing her into the complicated world of the Worrall Family.

Denis Lawson, known from Midsomer Murders, will star as Martin Worrall, the family’s patriarch, in a story about long-held secrets. As Amanda investigates the family’s history, their lives will be dramatically changed.

The show also stars Rebecca Front (known for The Thick of It), Callum Woodhouse (All Creatures Great and Small, The Durrells), Paula Wilcox (Trying), Stephen Tompkinson (from DCI Banks), Danielle Walters (Chewing Gum), and Nina Wadia (EastEnders).

Eleanor Tomlinson appears in The Forsytes, and the popular show will return to Channel 5 with its second season shortly.

Okay, so I just heard the news – the show’s coming back! And it’s not picking up right after the last finale, which was crazy. They’re jumping ahead a few months in time, so we’ll see what’s happened with everyone after all that went down. I’m really curious to see how they handle that gap!

The show features a talented cast, including Millie Gibson, known for her role in Doctor Who, Joshua Orpin from Home and Away, Danny Griffin of Fate: The Winx Saga, and Tuppence Middleton, who starred in Sense8.

Although we don’t have a specific date yet, a new trailer confirms that season two of The Forsytes will arrive in 2026. Stay tuned for more details!

The Fortune is coming to Channel 5.
