Brawl Stars Rico Guide – Best Setup For Super Rare Brawler

This guide will help you master Rico in Brawl Stars. We’ll cover his attacks, stats, and abilities to build the most effective strategy. Rico’s unique ability to bounce attacks off walls allows for clever and skillful gameplay. Let’s dive right into everything Rico has to offer.

Brawl Stars Rico Guide – How To Unlock

To unlock Rico in Brawl Stars, players can:

  • Select him as a Trophy Road Reward after collecting 140, 310, 500, 800, 1100, or 1500 trophies
  • Unlock him from a Mega Box (0.5% chance)

Brawl Stars Rico Guide – Attacks, & Stats Per Level

Rico’s main attack, called Bouncy Bullets, lets him shoot five bullets from a distance. These bullets don’t travel in a straight line – they spread out a bit. What’s special is that each time a bullet hits a wall and bounces, it travels even further, making it simple to hit targets that are difficult to reach.

Rico’s Super, Trick Shot, is similar to Bouncy Bullets but stronger. It fires 12 bullets that go right through enemies, dealing significant damage. Keep in mind each enemy can only be hit by one bullet, and the attack will stop if Rico is interrupted – for example, if he’s stunned, pushed back, or pulled away.

Here are Rico’s stats (current as of May 2026). Please note that these numbers are subject to change and may not be completely up-to-date.

Power Level Health Main Attack Damage (per bullet) Super Damage
1 3000 300 360
2 3300 330 396
3 3600 360 432
4 3900 390 468
5 4200 420 504
6 4500 450 540
7 4800 480 576
8 5100 510 612
9 5400 540 648
10 5700 570 684
11 6000 600 720

Brawl Stars Rico Guide – Which Star Powers & Gadgets are the best?

Overall, Rico has two gadgets:

  • Multiball Launcher – “Rico blasts waves of bouncy bullets in all directions.”
  • Bouncy Castle – “Rico’s next attack will heal him for 240 health from each projectile bounce. Cooldown: 17 seconds.”

Additionally, Rico has two Star Powers:

  • Super Bouncy – “Rico’s bullets, from attack and Super alike, get supercharged by their first bounce and deal +240 damage!”
  • Robo Retreat – “When Rico falls below 40% health, he runs 34% faster!”

Furthermore, Rico can use the following gears in battle:

  • Speed
  • Vision
  • Health
  • Shield
  • Damage
  • Gadget Cooldown

Finally, with Trick Shot King, Rico’s Hypercharge causes his attacks and special projectiles to bounce even more, extending their range.

Brawl Stars Rico Guide – Recommended Star Power, Gadget, & Gear Setup

Rico’s gadgets are both useful, but they’re better against different opponents. Bouncy Castle is great against teams that rely on throwing attacks, as it lets you heal and stay at a safe distance from the Multiball launcher. But when facing opponents like Edgar or Mortis, the Multiball launcher is effective for dealing significant damage. Overall, we find Bouncy Castle more versatile because it offers both healing and damage capabilities.

When it comes to Star Powers, we suggest Super Bouncy. The extra damage it provides is a big advantage. Robo Retreat can help you avoid getting hit, but it’s best to keep your health above 40%. Plus, even when active, many enemies are fast enough to catch you, especially once the power ends. Ultimately, Super Bouncy lets you defeat enemies more quickly, and that’s the most important thing.

As a big fan, I’ve found that equipping Rico with Gadget Cooldown gear is super helpful – it lets him use his gadgets way more quickly! Honestly, you can experiment with different gear, but if you want to stay alive, I’d suggest either something that boosts his damage or gives him extra shields. Those have worked best for me.

Brawl Stars – Which Modes Should You Use Rico In (And Which Modes You Shouldn’t)

Gem Grab

Rico’s primary attack, with its bouncing ability, is effective on most Gem Grab maps. His Super’s long reach can be great for quickly stopping a gem carrier who’s at a distance. Using Super Bouncy Rico increases his damage, which can be helpful for swiftly eliminating a gem carrier when needed. Plus, the range of his attacks can stop opponents from recovering health.

Showdown

Rico is a strong choice for Showdown. His attacks ricochet, and his powerful Super combined with high damage make him a well-rounded fighter. He excels at charging his Super and controlling the battlefield with his long-range attacks, especially against multiple opponents.

Bounty/Knockout/Wipeout

Rico excels at attacking from a distance and can be effective in any game mode. However, he’s vulnerable due to his low health, especially against strong attackers like Mandy and Piper. To succeed with Rico, focus on using his bouncing bullets and long attack range to hit enemies from afar. If opponents get too close, like Edgar, use his Multiball Launcher to create some breathing room.

Brawl Stars Rico Guide – What Mode(s) Should I NOT Use Rico In?

Brawl Ball

Rico is okay at Brawl Ball, but he’s missing some key abilities that would really help him excel. A strong Brawl Ball player needs to be able to:

  • Deal a lot of DPS
  • Use moves that stun, knock back, pull, or push
  • Destroy walls/cover

Rico needs to use his special ability to accomplish any of this. Otherwise, he won’t be able to defeat stronger opponents like high-level Primos or Bulls.

Overall, that wraps up our Brawl Stars Rico Guide!
