Dylan Sprouse Gets Arrested in Tense Clip From New Action Film

Dylan Sprouse Plays His Darkest Role Yet in Neglected

Detective Shaw (Josh Duhamel) planned to enjoy his first day of retirement, but his plans are immediately derailed when a teenager named AJ walks into the police station with a terrifying claim: Shaw’s son has been buried alive, and Shaw must solve a series of gruesome murders to save him. As time runs out and the air in his son’s hidden grave dwindles, Shaw finds himself in a desperate race against the clock. He has to contend with a police department falling apart and a cunning suspect who enjoys playing mind games, all while discovering a shocking truth: this wasn’t a random attack.

David Lipper, who previously directed Murder at Hollow Creek, helmed Neglected. He co-wrote the script with Adam G. Levine. The film stars Cole Sprouse, known from The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, and Josh Duhamel, who appeared in Jupiter’s Legacy. Lipper, Elena Sanchez (from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire), and Til Schweiger also appear in the movie.

Elena Sanchez Also Shines in Neglected

Speaking with Where Is The Buzz, Sanchez described her character in Neglected and how she approached the role. She explained that while Josh, Dylan, and Til play very strong characters, she wanted to bring a sense of femininity to her role as the lead. However, because her character is a detective, it was important for her to also be strong and competent. Sanchez also aimed to portray Detective Keyes as a balanced and positive influence within the story, keeping her grounded and relatable.

Filming at an actual police station turned out to be incredibly helpful. The officers gave us valuable insights into how people would realistically behave in various scenarios, which really boosted the film’s authenticity. We were fortunate to have their expertise.

Ryan Winterstern, Denise Loren, Mark Canton, and Dorothy Canton produced the film. Kevin Weisberg, Richard Reid, Michael Phillip, R. Wesley Sierk, Audra Gricius, Timothy Mulley, Roman Kopelevich, Jeff Kranzdorf, Justin L. Levine, Bonnie Liedtke, Rick Moore, Andrew Stevens, and Joey Stanton served as executive producers.

Neglected will be released in theaters on May 8, 2026.
