Okay, so get this – they’re rebooting Casper! Yep, the 90s movie I grew up with. And it’s not just any reboot, Steven Spielberg is involved! He actually produced the original Casper back in ’95, the one where Malachi Pearson did the voice. I’m definitely curious to see what he does with this new version!
Okay, so I was looking up some older movies, and I found out Devon Sawa, Christina Ricci, Bill Pullman, Cathy Moriarty, and even Eric Idle were all in this really cool film. What’s wild is it was the first movie ever to feature a main character who was completely made with computer graphics – totally groundbreaking stuff!
Disney+ is developing a live-action series based on Casper the Friendly Ghost, according to Deadline. The project was highly sought after, with five different companies competing to secure the rights.

Goosebumps‘ Rob Letterman is set to direct, writing the script alongside Hilary Winston.
In addition to Steven Spielberg and original star Christina Ricci, they will also be executive producers, working with Universal Studio Group’s UCP.

He then appeared in a slew of comic books before making his feature debut in 1995 with Casper.
When it first came out, the movie got a somewhat mixed reaction from critics. However, over the years, it’s become a beloved favorite for families.

According to the Houston Chronicle, Casper is a charming and enjoyable film, presented in a visually appealing way.
