Western Union has introduced USDPT, a new digital currency pegged to the U.S. dollar. It’s been created with Anchorage Digital Bank and operates on the Solana blockchain. This allows for much faster and more efficient international money transfers, moving away from traditional, slower banking methods. Western Union is updating its financial systems by combining the reliability of established institutions with the speed of blockchain technology. In 2026, they plan to launch “Stable,” a service that will let customers easily spend digital dollars in over 40 countries, making global payments simpler.
