Crime drama fans have a lot to look forward to this week, with several new and returning shows premiering. Among them is the return of the British spy thriller Citadel, starring Lesley Manville and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Prime Video promises a thrilling second season filled with suspense and excitement.
Netflix is adding a new series inspired by a truly fascinating real-life criminal case. And for a change of pace from all the intense dramas, a beloved BBC comedy is returning to offer some lighthearted entertainment.

Amandaland, season 2
In season two, Amanda continues to navigate a busy life in South Harlesden, balancing her two teenage children, her online business Senuous, and her collaborative workspace.
I’m really excited to follow Amanda’s story! She’s already got so much going on, but when she found out about this amazing house for sale nearby, she just had to have it. It’s not going to be easy for her to get it, though – it looks like she’s in for a challenge!
Absolutely Fabulous star Joanna Lumley is also set to return as Amanda’s mum Felicity.
Amandaland season 2 is available from Wednesday 6 May 9pm on BBC One.
What to Read Next

Citadel, season 2
Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Stanley Tucci return as their characters – highly skilled agents Mason Kane, Nadia Sinh, and Bernard Orlick – who used to work for a famous organization that was disbanded.
Season two will bring the original three characters back together as they search for talented new recruits. Together, this team will embark on a worldwide mission to uncover and stop a dangerous plot that threatens the future of humankind.
With Lesley Manville joining the cast, the new Prime Video series is promising big action, surprising twists, and a larger group of secret agents. Expect high stakes and plenty of uncertainty – you won’t be able to trust anyone!
Citadel season 2 is available from Wednesday 6 May on Prime Video.

Legends
A new, suspenseful thriller coming to Netflix is set in the 1990s and based on a true story. The series follows investigators from Her Majesty’s Customs and Excise as they struggle to stop the flow of illegal drugs into Britain – a case Netflix calls one of the most fascinating criminal investigations ever.
Created by Neil Forsyth (known for The Gold), this series centers around a highly confidential group of ordinary Customs officers. They’re sent undercover with minimal training and asked to create entirely new lives for themselves within the criminal world – these assumed personas were called Legends.
Legends is available from Thursday 7 May on Netflix.

The Chestnut Man, season 2
This season’s mystery begins when investigators discover a missing 41-year-old woman was secretly being stalked, with evidence of the harassment found in her online activity.
Her stalkers relentlessly harass her with disturbing images and videos, and they’ve recently escalated their behavior by sending her a creepy counting song reminiscent of a nursery rhyme.
After her body is discovered, investigators connect her death to the unsolved murder of a teenage student from two years earlier. Both cases point to a dangerous criminal who needs to be apprehended.
The Chestnut Man season 2 is available from Thursday 7 May on Netflix.

Unconditional
A new thriller coming to Apple TV promises to be emotionally gripping. The eight-episode series follows Orna and her daughter, Gali, whose dream vacation takes a terrifying turn when Gali is unexpectedly arrested.
As the show’s title suggests, Orna loves her daughter unconditionally and will do anything to demonstrate Gali’s innocence.
Unconditional is available from Friday 8 May on Apple TV.

Number One Fan
This Channel 5 thriller features Sally Lindsay and Jill Halfpenny as a television star and her obsessive fan. Lindsay plays Lucy Logan, while Halfpenny portrays Donna Hughes.
I was so thrilled when Donna saved Lucy from a random mugging! Lucy was really thankful and invited Donna, her biggest fan, to come visit the TV show set. But things quickly got weird and a little scary, honestly.
Number One Fan is available from Monday 4 May 8pm on Channel 5.

Monsieur Spade
The crime drama Monsieur Spade is coming to UK television this week. Set in 1963 in the South of France, the series follows Sam Spade (played by Clive Owen), a former detective who is pulled back into investigating crime when six nuns are found dead at a nearby convent. He was hoping for a quiet life, but this case throws him right back into gritty investigations.
As Sam investigates further, long-hidden secrets begin to emerge. His life is also complicated by the reappearance of someone from his past, forcing him to confront issues he believed were resolved.
Monsieur Spade will be available from Saturday 9 May 9pm on U&Drama.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a beautifully illustrated 100-page tribute to Sir David Attenborough, is now available! You can purchase it at newsstands or online.
