I’m totally hooked on the MonsterVerse right now! It’s everywhere, especially on streaming. Kurt Russell’s show is blowing up on Apple TV, and I can’t wait for the next episode – it looks like it’s going to be huge!

Currently, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is the fifth most popular show on Apple TV, moving up two spots to pass well-known comedies like Ted Lasso and Shrinking, according to FlixPatrol. This increase in popularity happens right before the Season 2 finale of Monarch, which you can stream now.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Opens the Door for a Third Season

It wasn’t certain if Monarch: Legacy of Monsters would get another season, but the way Season 2 ended strongly suggests it will (beware of spoilers!). The final episodes revealed Kentaro Randa (Ren Watabe) is connected to Isabel (Amber Midthunder), the daughter of the CEO of APEX Cybernetics. In the finale, Kentaro and Isabel run off together, hoping to unlock the power of Axis Mundi, and Kurt Russell’s character, Lee Shaw, learns they’re specifically after the Titan called Rodan.

While Monarch: Legacy of Monsters hasn’t been officially renewed for a third season, the ending of Season 2 suggests the story isn’t over. Critics have praised the show’s impressive visual effects, bringing Godzilla and King Kong to life on television with detail previously unseen. With an 82% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it currently has the highest score of any project in the MonsterVerse.

There Is More MonsterVerse on the Way

Viewers are still hoping for news about Season 3 of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, but more MonsterVerse content is planned for the future. Although a third season isn’t confirmed yet, a new series is in development focusing on a younger Lee Shaw. This upcoming show will explain what happened between Shaw’s return from Axis Mundi and his departure from Monarch.

The highly anticipated team-up between Godzilla and Kong will continue next year with Godzilla x Kong: Supernova. Set to release in theaters on March 26, 2027, this will be the third film to feature both Titans. Details are currently scarce, but Dan Stevens will reprise his role as Trapper. The movie will also star Kaitlyn Dever, Delroy Lindo, Alicia Debnam-Carey, Sam Neill, Matthew Modine, and Jack O’Connell.
