A dispute over pay and several cast members leaving the show are causing concerns that Geordie Shore might be cancelled.

The reality show launched on MTV back in May 2011, with 26 series having aired to date.

Vicky Pattison and Charlotte Crosby are just two of the stars who first became well-known through the reality TV show, Geordie Shore.

The Sun reports that preparations for the 28th season of the show are facing difficulties just days before filming is scheduled to begin.

The report stated that only six original cast members will be back for the show, which was scheduled to start filming a road trip in France on Monday.

The cast includes Gaz Beadle, Holly Hagan, Jay Gardner, Aaron Chalmers, Sophie Kasaei, and Ricci Guarnaccio.

It was revealed earlier this week that four cast members had quit the now-Paramount+ series.

I always love seeing who steps up first, and this time it was James Tindale, Abbie Holborn, and Marnie Simpson leading the way. Chloe Ferry joined them a little later, adding even more energy to the mix!

Sources at The Sun report that Chantelle Connelly, Kyle Christie, and Nathan Henry haven’t yet decided if they’ll be back for another season.

According to a source, the show’s producers gave the remaining cast members a tough choice: accept reduced pay and fewer scenes, or be replaced. Six cast members have already agreed to return under the original terms.

The group was called to a meeting where they learned their show would be shortened from 10 episodes to just six, resulting in a 5% reduction in their pay.

According to a source, the actors were told they had to sign a new contract by a specific date, or they wouldn’t be asked to return for future work.

This situation reportedly created tension within the group, as those not returning questioned why the six returning members received special treatment.

The source said: ‘The others are furious.

There’s talk that the show is using the pay cuts to fund bringing back Gaz and Aaron.

‘The general feeling among those not in the ‘safe’ camp is that they are nothing to bosses.

‘There are predictions this is the end of the show.’
