8 MCU Heroes We Want Deadpool to Team Up With in His Next Movie

Ryan Reynolds has hinted that the next Deadpool movie will likely team up the character with other heroes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The 2024 film Deadpool & Wolverine brought mutants from the older X-Men movies (originally from 20th Century Fox) into the main MCU. While many of these mutants will be reimagined after the Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars storylines, Ryan Reynolds is expected to continue playing Deadpool.

In a recent interview with Willie Geist on Today, Ryan Reynolds shared that although he has some ideas for the future, he envisions a potential Deadpool & Wolverine sequel where Deadpool takes a backseat, becoming a team player rather than the main focus. This opens the door for exciting team-ups with other Marvel heroes after his successful adventure with Wolverine (Hugh Jackman). Reynolds believes any of these heroes would be a great addition to a future Deadpool movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Deadpool Corps Deserve to Be Explored in the MCU

The movie Deadpool & Wolverine marked the first time these two characters appeared together in a live-action film. The movie also featured multiple versions of Deadpool, all teaming up in a dimension called the Void to support the villain Cassandra Nova (played by Emma Corrin). Although one version, known as Nicepool, didn’t make it through the film, the rest of the Deadpools were able to use their healing powers to survive the battle against Deadpool and Wolverine.

With Cassandra Nova gone, the Deadpool Corps – a team of Deadpools from across the multiverse originally created in Marvel comics – might be looking for a new purpose. Seeing characters like Ladypool, Cowboypool, Kidpool, Zenpool, and Deadpool 2099 fleshed out in the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be fantastic, and future Deadpool movies could be the perfect place to do it.

Spider-Man & Deadpool Have Teamed Up in Marvel Comics

Despite their very different personalities and goals, the pairing of Deadpool and Spider-Man could be a game-changer for live-action superhero team-ups. Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man have distinct approaches, but they’d likely create fantastic on-screen chemistry. Deadpool could encourage Spider-Man to embrace a more serious side, while Spider-Man might help Deadpool connect with his more heartfelt and heroic instincts.

In the trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine, Deadpool jokingly mimicked Spider-Man’s web-slinging while driving with Wolverine, hinting at a possible future team-up. With Spider-Man: No Way Home establishing a more mature Peter Parker, a partnership with Deadpool seems likely. This collaboration would solidify both characters’ roles within the Marvel Cinematic Universe and promises to be both exciting and funny for audiences.

Captain America Has Already Been Celebrated By Deadpool

When Wade Wilson entered the multiverse, he was invited to join the main Marvel universe (Earth-616). Mr. Paradox showed him footage of Captain America, played by Chris Evans. Seeing Captain America in action made Deadpool playfully salute, and Evans’ later appearance in the film further thrilled him – until it was revealed he was actually portraying the Human Torch. These moments strongly suggest fans would love to see Deadpool and Captain America team up in the future.

It might come as a surprise, but Deadpool and Captain America share a remarkably strong and long-lasting friendship in Marvel Comics. Deadpool, whose real name is Wade Wilson, has always looked up to Steve Rogers’ Captain America. They’ve fought side-by-side throughout history – both during World War II and as members of the Secret Avengers. A continued partnership would be good for both characters, helping to solidify Deadpool’s place within the Marvel Universe.

Daredevil & Deadpool Could Make Each Other Better

Daredevil and Deadpool are a surprisingly effective team despite being complete opposites. Daredevil is serious and driven by his faith, while Deadpool is a wacky, unpredictable mercenary. Their contrasting approaches – especially Deadpool’s willingness to kill versus Daredevil’s firm rule against it – would create compelling conflict, as first explored in the 1997 Marvel Comics special, Deadpool/Daredevil Annual.

In a recent storyline, Deadpool and Daredevil teamed up against the villain Typhoid Mary, portrayed by Alice Eve in Season 2 of Iron Fist. With rumors suggesting her return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Daredevil needing new opponents after his latest fight, Deadpool would make an excellent enemy – and eventual ally. The pair have a strong history as a dynamic duo, and fans would love to see them together on screen.

Deadpool 4 Could Reintroduce X-Force to the MCU

In the 2018 film, Deadpool assembled a team of mutants—including Domino, Bedlam, Shatterstar, Zeitgeist, the Vanisher, and Peter—to battle Cable and rescue Russell. Unfortunately, the entire X-Force team died during the adventure. Though Deadpool’s time travel technically saved them, a future Deadpool movie might introduce an even more powerful team.

X-Force is a more intense and proactive team spun off from the X-Men in Marvel comics. Originally led by Cable, the team has featured characters like Cannonball, Sunspot, Psylocke, Wolverine, and Archangel. Many fans would love to see a mature version of X-Force in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Deadpool’s complex personality makes him an ideal candidate to start and lead the team in Deadpool 4.

Cable Deserves to Return to the MCU After Deadpool 2

It would be fantastic to see Cable back as the leader of the X-Force. Josh Brolin played this cybernetically enhanced soldier from the future in Deadpool 2, where he attempted to eliminate Russell to prevent him from becoming the dangerous Firefist. Brolin’s performance as Cable was highly acclaimed, and fans noticed his absence in Deadpool & Wolverine, although Deadpool did mention him briefly while talking to Happy Hogan.

If the X-Men join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it would be great to see Josh Brolin return as Cable. With his time as Thanos likely over, Cable offers a fresh opportunity. Ideally, he’d reunite with Deadpool, and his comic book background allows for appearances in various X-Men stories. A return could open up a lot of exciting possibilities for him in the MCU.

Thor & Deadpool’s Partnership Has Already Been Teased

A surprising team-up has been hinted at in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and fans are now eager to see it happen. In the upcoming film Deadpool & Wolverine, Deadpool briefly saw a vision of the future within the TVA. This vision was actually a clip from the emotional (but ultimately staged) farewell between Thor and Loki in Thor: The Dark World, and it seems this moment will be revisited and reimagined during a future MCU conflict.

Although this scene might appear in Avengers: Secret Wars, it would be fantastic to see a partnership between these characters further developed in Deadpool 4, expected to be released after the Multiverse Saga concludes. Deadpool & Wolverine featured numerous references to Thor, suggesting the next Deadpool movie could build on their surprising connection. The upcoming film will likely explore more serious themes, making a team-up with Deadpool a natural fit.

Deadpool Would Make a Powerful Member of the New Avengers

Given that Deadpool is a mutant, it would seem logical for him to join a team like the X-Men or X-Force after the events of Avengers: Secret Wars. However, with the current state of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Deadpool might be a better addition to a new group of antiheroes. The recent Thunderbolts movie concluded with Yelena Belova, Red Guardian, Ghost, US Agent, and the Winter Soldier all poised for future adventures.

In Deadpool & Wolverine, Wade Wilson tries to join the Avengers, but his violent and unpredictable behavior makes him unsuitable for the main team. He’d be a better fit for the New Avengers – a government-backed group of reformed villains and antiheroes, some with incredibly dark pasts. Connecting Deadpool 4 to Thunderbolts as a sort of follow-up could further develop this New Avengers team, introducing fresh and compelling characters.
