The Local Voice, a non-profit supporting women with breast cancer, released another statement because Carter co-founded the organization and frequently performed at their fundraisers.

I’m absolutely devastated. They just posted on Facebook that Dylan Carter is gone. Dylan, the co-founder of The Local Voice… he was incredible. Not just with the paper, but he was such a gifted musician, and honestly, he meant the world to so many of us. It feels like a piece of our community is just… missing now. I can’t believe it.

Dylan was central to everything we did. He truly believed in the importance of every person and showed that belief in his daily life. He connected people through his music, his warm personality, and his genuine smile, making sure everyone felt valued and understood.

Dylan, a longtime resident of the Lowcountry, was a successful businessman and realtor who dedicated himself to helping people find their perfect home and a sense of community. He owned and operated Sunny Days RV & Campground, and always went the extra mile for others.

Carter’s mother had passed away in 2022 a year before he appeared as a contestant on The Voice.

The Local Voice shared that they are deeply saddened by the loss, but find solace knowing he’s reunited with his mother. They expressed immense gratitude for Dylan’s love and positive influence on the community, and pledged to continue his work as a tribute to his memory.
