The Air Jordan 4 “Black Laser” Is Rumored to Return in 2027

Name: Air Jordan 4 “Black Laser”
Colorway: TBC
SKU: IR2070-001
MSRP: TBC
Release Date: February 2027

Jordan Brand is bringing back a popular Air Jordan 4 colorway, the “Black Laser,” in February 2027. This will be the first time the shoe has been available in stores since it originally came out over 20 years ago, according to SneakerFiles and zsneakerheadz.

The 2027 retro version will closely resemble the original shoe in its construction. It will have a black leather base completely covered in the iconic graphic pattern. Bright red details will provide a strong contrast, appearing on the Jumpman logo, the inside lining, and the back of the tongue. The design is finished off with understated grey accents on the heel and parts of the sole.

For serious sneaker fans, the “Laser” series marks a key moment of innovation. First released in August 2005, alongside a “White Laser” version, these shoes arrived as part of the 20th-anniversary celebration of the Air Jordan brand. Around this time, Jordan Brand started focusing more on designs that told a story, using detailed laser etching all over the leather to showcase the highlights of Michael Jordan’s career. While the brand has revisited the laser look a few times since – notably in 2015 and 2019 – the re-release of the original 2005 black and red color scheme is particularly exciting for collectors.

Stay tuned for official confirmation and imagery in the coming months.
