Antonio Banderas and ex Melanie Griffith leave dinner arm-in-arm with their children… 12 years after she removed tattoo of his name

Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith were seen getting close after having dinner together in Los Angeles this weekend.

The actors, aged 65 and 68, showed they remain friendly while walking arm-in-arm, twelve years after their separation.

The former couple was accompanied by their 29-year-old daughter, Stella Banderas, who walked right behind them.

Antonio Banderas was dressed in black pants, a silver jacket, and black clogs, and he was carrying a baseball cap.

Griffith looked fashionable in straight-leg jeans and a black motorcycle jacket, completed by delicate black lace fingerless gloves.

Their daughter, Stella, always looked stylish, and today she was wearing wide-leg white pants with a matching cream-colored coat.

The former lovebirds tied the knot in May 1996.

During their 18-year marriage, the woman with blonde hair got a tattoo of a heart with her husband’s name on her arm.

Shortly after announcing their breakup on June 6, 2014, she started laser treatments to get rid of a tattoo related to the relationship.

Shortly after the news came out, she subtly covered up her soon-to-be ex-husband’s name on a program during an awards show in Italy.

She would eventually go on to replace the ink with the names of her four children. 

Griffith was previously married to Don Johnson, with whom she shares daughter Dakota Johnson, 36. 

The marriage also made her a stepmother to Johnson’s son Jesse Johnson, 43.

And she shares son Alexander Griffith Bauer, 40, with her second husband, Steven Bauer.

Banderas and Griffith’s divorce was finalized in December 2015.

The former couple first connected on the set of the 1995 film Two Much, got married in May 1996, and had their daughter, Stella, in September of the same year.

Melanie and Antonio have announced they are ending their nearly twenty-year marriage. In a joint statement, they said the decision was mutual and made with love and respect for each other, their family, and friends, and to honor the good times they shared.

In a 2019 interview with Vulture, Antonio Banderas described his former wife as family and one of his closest friends.

Although Melanie and I are divorced, she’s still family,” he said. “She’s one of my closest friends, maybe even my best. My family also includes Dakota, Little Estella, and Alexander.

The actor best known for playing Zorro said he fell for the experienced Hollywood actress immediately when he saw her at the 1989 Academy Awards.

He remembered the first time he attended the Academy Awards after their film, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, received a nomination. He spotted a blonde woman on the red carpet and recognized her from movies, but couldn’t immediately recall her name.

I was so surprised when I found out the woman I was looking at was Melanie Griffith! I remember asking Pedro Almodóvar repeatedly, “Who is that? What’s her name?” He told me it was Melanie, and I was completely stunned. Six years later, we ended up getting married.
