Get ready to watch some fantastic TV this week! Richard Gadd’s acclaimed show, Half Man – which we called the best of 2026 – will be broadcast on television starting Tuesday, April 28th. If you haven’t already seen it on BBC iPlayer, now’s your chance!
Besides the captivating drama with Gadd, this week offers several other great shows. Look out for a thrilling spy series with Gemma Arterton on ITV, and a tense crime drama on BBC starring Michael Socha, known from What it Feels Like for a Girl.
Netflix is bringing the excitement this week with two new action shows guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat. Keep scrolling to see what other fresh content is arriving on your screens!

The Cage
Sheridan Smith stars in this tense thriller as Leanne, a charming casino worker who finds herself in trouble with her boss, Matty (Michael Socha).
Leanne, a single mother facing possible foreclosure, starts stealing small amounts of money from the casino. When she discovers her coworker, Matty, is also stealing, they become connected by their shared secret.
Now, they’re on the run from both the criminals they robbed and the police who are starting to investigate. With Leanne unsure where her true allegiance lies and Matty battling his own personal struggles, can they remain a team and survive?

The Cage is available to watch from Sunday 26 April at 9pm on BBC.

Secret Service
ITV is calling Secret Service a captivating new spy thriller featuring a strong cast, and the show centers around MI6 officer Kate Henderson, played by Gemma Arterton.
Kate appears to have a normal life: she’s a civil servant, married to Stuart, and has two teenage children. However, she’s secretly a key leader at the Secret Intelligence Service, heading up the Russia Desk at a critical moment.
I’m so excited to see Mark Stanley, who I loved in Trigger Point, is going to be in this drama! And Rochenda Sandall, Amaka Okafor, Aoife Hinds, and Alex Kingston are all part of the cast too – what a fantastic lineup!
Secret Service is available to watch from Monday 27 April at 9pm on ITV.

Man on Fire
I’m really excited about this! You might recognize the story – it’s the same one that inspired Denzel Washington’s movie, Man on Fire. Now, it’s being reimagined as a seven-part series on Netflix, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who I loved in Wonder Man, is taking the lead role!
The movie Man on Fire, inspired by A.J. Quinnell’s novels, centers around John Creasy, a former Special Forces operative played by Abdul-Mateen II. Creasy is a hardened survivor with severe PTSD.
Creasy is trying to overcome his troubled past and find peace, but he keeps getting pulled back into a world of conflict.
Man on Fire is available to watch from Thursday 30 April on Netflix.

Widow’s Bay
Widow’s Bay looks like a charming, peaceful island town, but there’s a hidden darkness beneath the surface.
Mayor Tom Loftis, played by Matthew Rhys, is struggling to boost morale in his town and connect with his teenage son. The island faces challenges like poor internet and cell service, and locals whisper about a long-standing curse, making his job even harder.
Loftis, often seen as a weak leader who doesn’t command respect, is trying to transform Widow’s Bay into a popular tourist spot to prove his doubters wrong. But as visitors start arriving, strange and unsettling things begin to happen, suggesting the town’s long-dormant curse has returned.
Widow’s Bay is available to watch from Wednesday 29 April on Apple TV.

The House of Spirits
Prime Video is bringing Isabel Allende’s beloved novel, The House of the Spirits, to life as a sweeping family drama. The series follows a proud and passionate family through generations, filled with hidden romances and the upheaval of revolution.
Isabel Allende’s The House of the Spirits tells the story of the Trueba family across three generations, focusing on Clara, Blanca, and Alba as they live through the challenges of a changing, traditional South American country.
The story follows the Trueba family over a hundred years of upheaval and dramatic social shifts. It explores their loves, hardships, and hidden truths, ultimately leading to a conflict that forces the strong-willed family patriarch and his cherished granddaughter to become rivals.
The House of Spirits is available from Wednesday 29 April on Prime Video.

Glory
If you loved watching Bloodhounds and are looking for another exciting show about boxing, don’t miss Glory on Netflix.
This gripping series, set in India, follows a family torn apart who are unexpectedly thrown back together amidst a high-stakes situation.
The story revolves around Raghubir Singh (Suvinder Vicky), a demanding boxing coach driven by a need to win. However, the arrival of his sons, Dev (Divyenndu) and Ravi (Pulkit Samrat), reveals that there’s more to the narrative than just victory.
I’m really hooked on this story! It follows two brothers who go back to their hometown, Shaktigarh, determined to figure out what really happened to their sister after a terrible attack. But it doesn’t stop there – they also start digging into the strange death of a promising boxer who was on his way to the Olympics. It’s a double mystery and I can’t wait to see what they uncover!
Expect rivalry, revenge and ambition with a murder mystery baked into its core.
Glory is available to watch on Friday 1 May on Netflix.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a vibrant, full-color 100-page tribute to Sir David Attenborough, is now available! You can purchase it at newsstands or online.
