Boyzone admit ‘Louis Walsh promised us the sun, moon and stars’ as group reignite long-running feud with their ex manager in explosive documentary
In a candid and revealing new documentary, Boyzone and Louis Walsh openly discuss their prolonged disagreement, offering insights into their complex relationship as members of the iconic Irish boyband.
On February 2nd, a three-part series will premiere on both Sky Documentaries and NOW, offering viewers an inside look into the life and times of the band that rose to fame in 1993 but disbanded after seven years. The series delves into their rise to stardom, conflicts, and unfortunate events they experienced during their short-lived career.
A fresh video clip reveals the team confessing that they endured harsh periods during Louis’s tenure as their leader.
Reflecting on the beginnings of our journey, Ronan Keating shares in the preview: “We were more like a group of young lads thrown together. We weren’t flawless, we weren’t polished.
Louis, who orchestrated their professional advancement, later appeared on screen, delivering a blunt remark: “I admire common folks more, for they are more dedicated. They’re eager to comply with your expectations right from the beginning.
During the video, this remark was among several the Irish manager directed towards the band, made during an ongoing dispute with the lead singer, Ronan.
At some point during the trailer, Shane Lynch, aged 48, expresses his thoughts about collaborating with Louis. He says that Louis had told them they would get the best of everything, like the sun, moon, and stars.
Instead of boasting that he masterminded the band’s massive publicity campaign, Louis playfully remarked: “They were fooled by their own fame. They overlooked the fact that I was the one who wrote it.
Boyzone, one of the most renowned and influential boybands ever, experienced turmoil and discord, including rivalry, betrayal, and unfortunate events, which eventually led to their disbandment.
Thirty years later, the original four members – Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Shane Lynch, and Michael ‘Mikey’ Graham, along with their former manager Louis Walsh, are opening up about their past. They will share the real story behind their success, detailing the incredible peaks they reached during their rapid ascent to fame, as well as the significant personal sacrifices that being in a boyband demanded from each of them.
The documentary was made a year following when Louis openly shared his genuine emotions about Boyzone during his time in the Celebrity Big Brother house.
Previously on “X Factor,” the judge, now 71 years old, rekindled his decades-long dispute with Ronan, live for millions of spectators to see.

On the “X Factor,” the former judge, now aged 71, revisited a long-standing disagreement with Ronan in full view of millions of viewers.
Both sentences convey the same meaning but are written differently to provide variety and make the text more engaging.
During the night, the housemates enjoyed some tunes, and suddenly Ronan’s hit single “Life Is A Rollercoaster” began playing. “What a fantastic track,” Louis commented before whispering to fellow housemate Sharon Osbourne, “He sure was difficult.
He then said: ‘Everybody thinks he’s a lovely guy, do you know what I mean?’
While the tune went on playing, Louis voiced his critique of Ronan’s career by stating, “He hasn’t seen success with a hit single since I departed. He fired me.
Over the years, I’ve had my fair share of disagreements with Ronan. On more than one occasion, I’ve expressed my views about him rather candidly, describing him as lacking in talent and being overly spoiled.
During an interview with Q Magazine in 2012, he admitted that the allure of luxurious accommodations and limousine rides led him to believe he could compose music.
If you’re Ronan Keating, who I found while you were working in a shoe store, but if you believe yourself to be George Michael, it’s important that someone intervenes.
On certain instances, Ronan has made it clear in the past that he doesn’t wish to collaborate with individuals lacking respect for him, as expressed during an interview on Magic FM.
He considered Louis as a significant mentor to him, and he’s deeply appreciative of the chances that Louis provided him, as he acknowledges that he wouldn’t have achieved his current position without those opportunities.
However, it’s limited how much gratitude one can express and have their efforts acknowledged, yet not always receive appreciation or respect in return.
Last year audio emerged of Ronan branding Louis a ‘jealous bulls****er’ in a foul-mouthed rant.
In the recording, during the peak of their feud in 2006, Ronan is audibly venting to biographer Rob McGibbon about how Louis had deeply wounded him.
Saying: ‘I’ve no respect for Louis because he has none for me. He was very jealous of me.
I let him go because he refused to follow my leadership, demonstrating a highly self-centered nature. To put it bluntly, his behavior was unprofessional and dishonest.
This response maintains the original intent of the statement while using more polite and professional language.
The upcoming documentary will likewise delve into the time when Stephen Gately, the deceased celebrity who was 33 when he passed away in October 2009, chose to reveal his homosexuality publicly. This decision became necessary following a demand from a publication after they threatened to expose him.
In the trailer, Louis appears with a smile on his face, reminiscing about the attention generated by Stephen’s confession. He seems quite pleased and points out that the news headlines were prominent.
Keith Duffy reminisced about how he found it incredibly shocking, even scandalous, the way the newspaper had handled the late singer.
Boyzone: No Matter What air Sunday 2 February on Sky Documentaries and streaming service NOW.
