Claude Littner's future on The Apprentice is revealed after he missed out on last series following horror cycling accident

As a devoted fan of The Apprentice, I can’t help but feel a deep sense of admiration for Claude Littner, the indomitable businessman who has graced our screens for so many years. His recent health struggles, including his near-fatal cycling accident and subsequent nine surgeries, have only served to strengthen my admiration for this resilient figure.

I remember the day he was forced to miss out on the boardroom in 2021, feeling a pang of sadness as I watched Tim Campbell take his place. But Claude’s spirit never waned; instead, he continued to pay close attention to the candidates from his sofa, offering his insight and wisdom even from afar.

When I heard that Claude would be returning to The Apprentice for the upcoming season, I couldn’t contain my excitement. As a fan, it was a relief to know that our favorite advisor was on the mend and ready to take on another challenge.

But what truly sets Claude apart is his unwavering sense of humor. Even in the face of adversity, he never fails to crack a joke or two. In a recent interview, he quipped about the potential for him to return in full for the 2025 season, saying “Nil disperandum” – which roughly translates to “don’t despair”. I couldn’t help but chuckle at his clever use of Latin, reminding us all that even in the face of setbacks, there is always hope.

Claude Littner is more than just a businessman or advisor; he is a symbol of resilience, humor, and determination. I can’t wait to see him back on my screen, offering his wisdom and wit to the next generation of aspiring entrepreneurs. And who knows? Maybe by 2025, we’ll finally get to see Claude take on the role of Lord Sugar himself. Until then, I’ll be counting down the days until The Apprentice returns in February. Bring on the boardroom battles!

On Friday, it was disclosed that Claude Littner will be returning to BBC The Apprentice following his absence from the previous season due to a severe accident.

In 2021, the 75-year-old businessman had to forgo attending the boardroom meetings due to a severe bicycling mishap. He disclosed that he came close to losing his leg and underwent no less than nine surgical procedures as a result.

Claude had served as an advisor to Lord Alan Sugar, alongside Baroness Karren Brady, but was later succeeded by the winner of the first season, Tim Campbell.

Previously this year, Claude disclosed that the decision about him rejoining the boardroom wasn’t in his hands since he has completely healed from his injuries and is now in good health.

As a devoted fan, I’ve learned from a trusted source that the affluent entrepreneur will indeed be seen in the upcoming series, yet his presence won’t be permanent.

According to a source, the team deeply feels the absence of Claude and his professional skills on a regular basis, but Tim has proven to be an excellent stand-in.

He continues to play a significant role in the program, similar to last year, and is expected to appear again in the upcoming season for discussions with the contestants.

TopMob have contacted Claude’s representatives for comment.

In most cases, the interviews occur during the eleventh episode of every series, where the five finalists and their business ideas are highlighted and scrutinized by professionals and business leaders in their respective industries.

When Claude left, he emphasized that he would closely watch the candidates’ actions, not from the boardroom, but rather comfortably seated on his couch.

In his statement, he expressed his disappointment at not being able to participate in the upcoming series as usual, whether it’s handling tasks or attending board meetings. However, he assured us that he will eagerly watch all the action unfold from the comfort of his sofa.

17 years after winning a business reality competition, Claude’s successor, Tim, confessed that he was initially taken aback when his former mentor, Lord Alan Sugar, invited him to rejoin the show. He even doubted the authenticity of the invitation in disbelief at first.

In an interview with Radio Times magazine, he reminisced about his initial thoughts: “Was this a joke? I expected someone to burst in with cameras yelling, ‘Gotcha!’ I questioned, ‘Is he really calling me?’ When he clarified, I asked, ‘Are you being sincere?’ It was quite absurd.

Since Claude has been a regular on The Apprentice since 2015, fans were disappointed and worried when he was absent during the premiere episode of the previous season.

Claude previously expressed the potential that he could return in full for the 2025 season.

A fan tweeted: “I’ve missed Claude Littner on The Apprentice this year, I was hoping he would return…” To which Claude replied: “Perhaps next year. ‘Nil desperandum'” (which means “Do not despair” in Latin).

At the onset of the 2022 season, Tim stepped in at the eleventh hour for Claude. Addressing the contestants, Sir Alan clarified, “You might be curious as to why this man is among us,” while gesturing towards Tim.

‘Regretfully, Claude has not been very well and Tim will be assisting me for the next 11 weeks.’

In April 2021, Claude was involved in an unexpected electric bike mishap which left him with severe injuries. Subsequently, he required nine operations on his leg to prevent amputation. After the accident that occurred close to his residence in London, he had to re-learn how to walk.

Consequently, Claude was absent during the last two seasons of The Apprentice, dedicating his time to recuperation instead. However, he reappeared momentarily in 2023 for just one episode, after which Tim took over once more.

Last year, during an appearance on Good Morning Britain, Claude provided a health update, expressing: “I am thriving quite well, thank you. I am deeply appreciative to the paramedics who took care of me and, of course, the skilled surgeons at St Mary’s for piecing me back together.

It was an unusual, unforeseen incident. Some might say fate was on my side, yet if fate had been more vigilant, perhaps I wouldn’t have experienced this mishap – fortunately, there was an ambulance following closely behind me.

I was casually driving, presumably not exceeding around 10 kilometers per hour, given the type of narrow, dirt road I was on.

Suddenly, I found myself on the sidewalk at the street’s edge, my bicycle lying in the center of the road, and I couldn’t explain how it occurred.

As a seasoned cyclist with years of riding under my belt, I have encountered my fair share of obstacles on the road, but that one pothole was something else entirely. It seemed to appear out of nowhere, and before I knew it, I was flat on my back in the middle of the street. The impact was so sudden and jarring that it left me momentarily disoriented. My life as a cyclist has taught me to stay alert and ready for unexpected hazards, but this one caught me off guard. It’s a reminder that even with experience, there are always new challenges to navigate on the open road.

In February, it’s anticipated that the 19th season of “The Apprentice” will be broadcast, featuring prominent businessman Lord Sugar alongside his advisors Karren and Tim.

The last series saw Rachel Woolford win beating runner-up Phil Turner.

Applications for the 20th series of the hit BBC star are now open.
