Black Panther Will Appear In Multiple Upcoming Marvel Movies (Full List)

Black Panther will be appearing in several Marvel movies over the next few years. First introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, the hero from Wakanda has become hugely popular over the last ten years. With the current Multiverse Saga wrapping up and new phases on the horizon, Black Panther’s future looks promising.

Marvel has confirmed Black Panther will appear in three upcoming movies, starting with Avengers: Doomsday, which releases December 18th. The latest trailer showed Letitia Wright as Shuri taking on the role of Black Panther. In it, she hints at having experienced significant loss before encountering the Fantastic Four from another universe. Shuri is anticipated to be a key character alongside the Fantastic Four in the film.

Letitia Wright has confirmed she will reprise her role as Shuri in the upcoming movie Avengers: Secret Wars, scheduled to start filming in June. In a December 2025 interview with Screen Rant, Wright explained that Secret Wars was the next project she needed to work on after completing Doomsday, which she described as a fantastic experience.

She described being involved as “a great honor,” and shared that she keeps the memory of Chadwick Boseman with her throughout the filmmaking process.

It’s truly an honor to be back. This feels like a celebration of everything we accomplished with the first movies, and I always think of my brother. It means a lot to me, and I’m really excited for audiences to see how Shuri’s character develops in the upcoming films.

So, I’ve been hearing some interesting buzz about T’Challa potentially returning to the MCU, and it sounds like Avengers: Secret Wars is the likely vehicle for it. Apparently, Marvel’s been talking to actors – Daniel Richtman mentioned Aaron Pierre – and they’re leaning towards bringing him back in Secret Wars instead of any kind of ‘Doomsday’ project. It’s exciting to think about, honestly!

Marvel is starting work on Black Panther 3, continuing the story of the Wakandan hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While the details of the plot are still secret, Letitia Wright will reprise her role as Shuri, and Denzel Washington, an Academy Award winner, will play the film’s antagonist. The movie is currently aiming for a 2028 release, though a firm production schedule hasn’t been announced.

What To Expect From Black Panther in Future MCU Movies

The next steps for Black Panther’s story will likely become clear in the upcoming movie, Doomsday, which will heavily feature the people of Wakanda. A recent trailer shown at CinemaCon hinted at more action involving Shuri and Tenoch Huerta as Namor, with both of them seemingly caught in a large whirlpool alongside members of the Fantastic Four.

Following this film and Secret Wars, the next Black Panther movie is expected to feature familiar faces from the previous two films, as well as Shuri and M’Baku, who is currently the king of Wakanda. There’s been talk that Denzel Washington might play Achebe, a character with a strong connection to Wakanda, and director Ryan Coogler has confirmed the role was written with Washington in mind.

If Wakanda welcomes back a new version of T’Challa, it could dramatically change the country’s leadership and social order as they grapple with the return of their presumed-deceased king. Fans are eagerly anticipating the next chapter for these beloved characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, no matter how the story unfolds.
