As a space-loving, movie-enthusiast with a soft spot for both romantic comedies and the 1960s, I can hardly contain my excitement for the streaming release of Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum’s “Fly Me to the Moon” on Apple TV+. Having grown up during the golden age of NASA, I remember the moon landing like it was yesterday, so the setting of this film is a delightful blast from the past.
As a huge fan, I’m thrilled to share that the romantic comedy “Fly Me to the Moon,” starring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum, is set for a streaming debut! Can’t wait to watch it!
The movie that debuted in theaters earlier this year is set to be available worldwide on Apple TV+ starting December 6th.
In the era of the intense 1960s space competition, the story unfolds around Kelly Jones, a savvy marketer, who is assigned the mission to revamp NASA’s public perception prior to the historic Apollo 11 moon landing.
Yet, her arrival quickly introduces complications for NASA launch director Cole Davis (Tatum), an endeavor that was already demanding.

In the course of their growing understanding and feelings for each other, Kelly finds herself covertly working on a staged lunar landing as an alternative in case the genuine mission encounters difficulties.
The movie “Fly Me to the Moon” is helmed by Greg Berlanti and features actors like Woody Harrelson from “True Detective”, Ray Romano known for “Ice Age”, Jim Rash of “Community”, and Colin Woodell who starred in “The Originals”.
The movie currently has a 65% rating on the review website Rotten Tomatoes, based on 227 reviews.
As a dedicated admirer, I must say that Berlanti’s direction is nothing short of sharp and delightful. His unique approach truly shines. Furthermore, the duo of Johansson and Tatum are undeniably captivating, oozing sheer charisma on screen. Their chemistry is reminiscent of classic, top-tier movie-star magic.

In a conversation with Entertainment Weekly, Berlanti disclosed that NASA granted approval for the movie and allowed him to film scenes at Cape Canaveral in Florida.
Additionally, he made it clear that he aimed for an authentic atmosphere, meticulously designing the locations and costumes to resemble reality.
He mentioned that each detail was carefully attended to, ranging from the headsets down to every button and control on every computer, he said.
During our filming, there were several individuals present who attended the initial launch. Upon entering the firing chamber, their eyes filled with tears as if they had taken a walk through a portal to the past.
Fly Me to the Moon will be able to stream on Apple TV+ from December 6.
