Season 3 of Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will premiere this fall. The series, which is set thousands of years before J.R.R. Tolkien’s books and films, explores the history of Middle-earth during its Second Age and is now confirmed to be returning for another chapter.
Okay, so Season 3 jumps ahead a few years after everything that happened last season. It’s right in the middle of the Elf-Sauron war, and it’s all about Sauron trying to forge the One Ring. Basically, he needs it to win the war, control everyone, and finally take over Middle-earth. It’s a pretty intense time, to say the least!
The latest season will begin streaming on November 11th on the platform, where you can also find the previous two seasons, which originally aired in 2022 and 2024. A new image has been released, giving fans a first glimpse of Sauron (played by Charlie Vickers).
The series that came before The Lord of the Rings is still Prime Video’s most popular TV debut, and the second season ranks among the platform’s top five most-watched returning shows. Amazon shared this viewership data, which covers the first 91 days, with Variety.
The cast of Rings of Power includes Morfydd Clark, known for her role in Saint Maud, as Galadriel, Robert Aramayo as Elrond, Markella Kavenagh as Nori Brandyfoot, and Ismael Cruz Córdova as Arondir. Viewers learned during the first season that the character played by Vickers is actually the villainous Sauron.

Amazon announced season 3, noting the enthusiastic fan response to the series. Peter Friedlander, Head of Global Television at Amazon, stated that the show has consistently delivered the large-scale, ambitious, and cinematic storytelling that characterizes Prime Video’s most popular global series.
Friedlander added that the huge reaction from fans worldwide shows people are still captivated by the world of Middle-earth, and interest is actually increasing as they head into the third season.
I’m so excited – the third season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is coming to Prime Video on November 11th! If you haven’t seen it yet, the first two seasons are already available to stream there, and they’re amazing!
The latest issue of Living Legends, a beautifully illustrated 100-page tribute to Sir David Attenborough, is now available! You can find it at newsstands or purchase it online.
